The Chilean striker revealed his battle to find his feet in a new club after completing the first mid-season transfer of his career

Fans around the world have been disappointed by Alexis Sánchez's poor form as a Manchester United player. Even if most experts agreed about the Chilean's impact on the team would be a positive one, Sánchez has failed to deliver for the Red Devils, and he finally admitted problems to adapt to a new city, coach and even workout regimes.

Speaking in Sweden while away with La Roja, Sánchez revealed that changing clubs during the winter transfer window has taken a toll on his performances.

"The change of club was something that was very abrupt - it was the first time I’ve changed clubs in January. As I am self-demanding, I expected something better. After my arrival at United, it was hard to change everything very quickly," Sánchez stated.

The Chilean ace went even further and talked about how he thought about taking extreme measures to adapt to the team, such as taking a leave of absence from the National Team.

"I even hesitated to come here. I had asked permission to miss these games, but then I thought better and spoke with Claudio [Bravo] and told him that we should all be united," the player added.

Sánchez has played six Premier League games, scoring only one goal for Manchester United. He also played both of Man Utd's KO games against Sevilla, failing to score or assist in both of those games.

Man United's hierarchy fears Sánchez will become the team's new "Di Maria"

A report published by the Daily Mail revealed Alexis Sánchez's failure to adapt to his new life at Manchester United, with claims about the Chilean striker being distant with his team-mates raising doubts about his future with the club.

The report states that the 29-year old likes to have lunch on his own, often looking as if he had second thoughts about his time at Old Trafford. The same source even compared his attitude to the one shown by Angel Di Maria during his stint at the club.

"He looks like someone who doesn't want to be here. The whole thing doesn't seem right, he looks like a lost boy. It was the same with Di Maria," the source stated.

While Jose Mourinho has stated that Sánchez's best form will come next season, some Manchester United insiders feel that the Chilean could follow Di Maria's footsteps, as he's turned out to be a major disappointment following his signature last January.
