The talented midfielder scored the opening goal for Julen Lopetegui's men against Israel, leading the way for a comfortable 4-1 win.

The game against Israel turned out to be a historical one for La Roja, as one of their players reached a milestone in front of their home crowd.

David Silva became the top scoring midfielder in La Roja's history alongside Fernando Hierro, as he scored his 29th goal with the Spanish National Team. All in all, Silva is now ranked fourth in the all-time chart, trailing third place Fernando Torres by a mere nine goals.

At the top of the table, David Villa and Raúl González still have a commanding lead over Silva, but one can only appreciate his contribution from his spot in the field.

If that wasn't enough, Silva cemented his reputation as one of the most influential players during Julen Lopetegui's stint as coach, since he's been directly involved in seven goals during the WC Qualifiers (three goals, four assists).
