PPLive is a very popular peer-to-peer streaming video application and network developed by the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. It combines the use of P2P and IPTV technologies to make it a highly effective Live Video Streaming application.

Common Issues

Short pauses and buffering may occur due to video stream quality and limited peer connections. In some instances, the video stream will halt definitely as the video stream was not able to sustain itself, normally due to few users accessing the same stream. Channel restriction is controlled by IP however proxy modification usually resolves this issue.

PPmate System requirements:

• Windows 2000 and Windows XP and Windows Vista
• Windows Media Player and RealPlayer. The media player used will depend on the type of stream. WMP11 now supported.
