The former midfielder admitted that La Roja needs to shake things up after their fiasco in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup.

Luis Enrique's "revolution" has arrived to the Spanish National Team, and the former Barcelona boss has already admitted he's open to change.

Despite showing the utmost respect for his predecessors, Luis Enrique hinted that his initial poll of players will be a bit bigger than the one Julen Lopetegui handled for over two years.

"The first draft I made since I was appointed includes 70 players. There are some included there that were not around previously, some that have played a few games and some of the most experienced," the former midfielder stated.

"I'm really looking forward to hand in my first call up.There will be some surprises, that's for sure. I guarantee you that we will have fun working together," he added.

The former Celta and Barcelona coach in La Liga admitted that, even though the team has enjoyed it's fair share of success, he feels that the style of play is the same as the one they had ten years ago, and that needs to change.

"Back when I was a player we were called 'La Furia' (the furious ones), and I don't know where we lost that. We were the team with the least amount of cards in the World Cup, so we have to analyze that. I like the image this team portrays, but you have to evolve," Luis Enrique said.

The newly-appointed boss referred to two of his former pupils in Barcelona: Iniesta and Gerard Piqué. Both of them had stated that they would retire from international duty, but will the boss try to change their minds?

"Iniesta was my little brother when he started. Then, he helped us quite a bit when we coached Barcelona. We have to respect his decision. Piqué's case is a bit different, because he told us two years ago that he'd quit. I'd like to have him around, because I know what he represents," the tactician concluded.

Luis Enriqye signed a deal for the next four years with La Roja. His first order of business will be to prepare the team for the UEFA Euro Qualifiers, which are set to start next year.
