The former Barcelona forward's strike settled a thrilling Klassiker.

Just as anticipated, the drama in Saturday's Der Klassiker endured from start to finish and an impressive display by Borussia Dortmund saw them edge bitter rivals Bayern Munich. It took the expertise of summer signing Paco Alcacer to ensure that all the three points stayed at the Signal Iduna Park.

However, his effort was again canceled by Marco Reus in the 67th-minute. Substitute Paco Alcacer subsequently put the ding-dong affair to bed by latching onto a ball from Axel Witsel from the half-way line and expertly lobbing the ball past the onrushing Manuel Neuer. Interestingly, the feat meant that the Spanish forward has so far scored with each of his last eight shots in the Bundesliga. He now ranks as the joint topscorer in the German domestic league alongside Alssane Plea and Marco Reus with 8 goals in just six appearances.

Momentarily, Borussia Dortmund sits atop the league log with 27 points. They are trailed by city rivals Borussia Monchengladbach who has so far accumulated 23 points from 11 matches. Bayern Munich follows suit in third place with 20 points.
