The 2017-18 La Liga season is nearing its end, and Barcelona managed to get even closer to securing the title without playing this weekend's game.
Los Blaugranas had to postpone their Matchday 34 game against Villarreal due to the Copa del Rey final, and if they needed one win to secure the title before the weekend, Atlético's draw against Betis will allow them to break out the champagne by earning a draw against Deportivo next weekend if Atlético loses against Alavés.
As of now, Barcelona has an 11-point lead over Los Colchoneros. With one game in hand, and facing one of the teams trying to avoid relegation, we could have the Blaugrana side confirming their title one week before El Clásico.
The other side of the table saw Málaga and Las Palmas losing their place in the Spanish top flight nex season. Málaga's relegation was confirmed during midweek's games, while Las Palmas hopes were slayed by Alavés, who thrashed them 4-0 at their own home turf. Now, Deportivo and Levante are the only teams involved in the battle to avoid relegation, with Los Granotas owning a 6-point lead over "El Dépor".

Pichichi race
There was no movement in the top scorers' chart this week, as Messi and Suárez were busy destroying Sevilla's defense in the Copa del Rey final. Cristiano Ronaldo relaxed during the weekend as Real Madrid's game got postponed, while Iago Aspas and Antoine Griezmann went blank this week.
Zamora race
Jan Oblak confirmed himself as the best goalkeeper in the Spanish top flight by helping Atlético earn one point against Betis, although their chances of winning the title are pretty slim right now.
