Antoine Griezmann, a talented and highly sought-after player, has long been linked with Man United. However, the Premier League giant has been dealt a huge blow in their chase of the Frenchman.
According to several reports, the Atletico Madrid ace is set to leave Los Rojiblancos, but his destination will not be Old Trafford. Instead, the 26-year-old has his heart set on a Barcelona move.
Sources close to the club and the attacker believe that it’s a matter of time before Griezmann leaves for Camp Nou, as reported by the Independent. This is despite the fact that the attacker signed a new contract with Atletico back in June.
Catalunya Ràdio then added more fuel to the Griezmann-to-Barcelona rumors by claiming the deal will be wrapped up next summer. The Blaugrana is expected to pay roughly $133.7m, as Valverde’s side continues to rebuild their attack after Neymar’s exit.

The Red Devils came close to landing the Frenchman last summer, but the deal fell apart due to Atletico’s transfer ban. Mourinho’s interest in the attacker did not fade, but United might now be forced to look elsewhere.
The Old Trafford side, who will be in action on Wednesday against Bournemouth, has reportedly already started exploring their options. Their plans are for the summer, with the club eager to strengthen several positions.
