The Colombian ace gave an interview to a German newspaper, but his words got somewhat lost in translation.

While some footballers don't read newspapers, James Rodríguez stepped up to deny words published by Sport Bild on his behalf.

The former Real Madrid player supposedly aimed a dig at his former club in an interview with the German news outlet, by referring to Bayern Munich as a "bigger" club than Real Madrid. As quickly as he could, Rodriguez took it to Twitter to deny such claims, especially since he's still under contract with the Spanish giants.

"I never said this (about Bayern being bigger than Real Madrid), I have massive respect for Real Madrid! Please let me be, I have left Spain now. Thanks!" the player wrote on his social media account.

Rodriguez recently joined Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal from Los Blancos. He will reunite with former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, who coached him during his first and only successful season in the Spanish capital.
