Both teams will discuss a series of activities to help the famiies of those who died or were injured during the bombing.

Once again, football will try to help a city rise after a tragedy, as both clubs from the city of Manchester have agreed to donate £1M to the We Love Manchester Emergency fund.

This money, which will add to the £2M donated by citizens around the world, will be the first step taken by the two English giants to help those who lost loved ones or had a member of their family injured during the events that took place at Manchester Arena on Monday.

The hashtag #ACityUnited will be used for any upcoming activities to help the city back on its feet.

Manchester City's Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, spoke about this collaboration between the bitter sports rivals.

"We have all been humbled by the strength and solidarity shown by the people of Manchester in the days since the attack. The hope of both our clubs is that our donation will go some small way to alleviate the daunting challenges faced by those directly affected and that our acting together will serve as a symbol to the world of the unbreakable strength of the spirit of Manchester," City's Chairman stated in a press release.

Manchester United's VP, Ed Woodward stated that this donation "is an act of solidarity, as both entities have always been embedded in the hearts of all the local communities of the city."

Mourinho dedicates UEFA Europa League title to victims of the attack

Following Manchester United's 2-0 win against Ajax in the UEFA Europa League final, Jose Mourinho spoke about those who lost their lives during Monday's tragic events, hoping that his team's success helps its citizens to "heal".

"If we could trade this trophy for the lives of those who perished during the incident, I wouldn't think twice. We can only hope this trophy makes the people of Manchester a bit happier during this difficult time," Mourinho stated.
