DISH Network is a subsidiary of EchoStar Communications Corporation, which is headquartered in Englewood, Colorado. EchoStar was the first company to develop a UHF remote control Integrated Receiver Descrambler (IRD) for C-band satellite TV, and currently offers service to all 50 states. A direct competitor of DirecTV, DISH Network has 21,000 employees and 13 million subscribers in the U.S. (It can be picked up in Canada, too, but is not legally available there.) It also offers MPEG2 & MPEG4 multi-room HDTV and DVR receivers to some customers.
DISH Network provides access to live soccer matches from the best leagues in Europe, North America and Latin America. Among its sports network offerings are 3A Telesud, ESPN, Fox Soccer Channel, GOL TV, GOL TV (Spanish), PFC Internacional, Radio Audizioni Italiane Internazional, RTP Internacional, TV Globo Internacional, TV5, and Univision.
