As the satellite TV arm of Bell Canada, Bell ExpressVu covers most of the vast nation of Canada, and has since its inception in 1997. By 2000 the original ExpressVu Dish Network had been taken over entirely by Bell, and had become what it is today. The company broadcasts using four distinct geosynchronous satellites, beaming its coverage to 20-inch satellite disks throughout the country, and uses dedicated fiber optic networks for local and backup broadcasting.
Bell ExpressVu offers a truly impressive lineup of 20 sports stations, all of which are digital. The sports lineup includes ESPN Classic, Fox Sports World, GOL TV, GOL TV Spanish, OMNI 1, OMNI 2, Radio Audizioni Italiane Internazional, Reseau des Sports (French), Sportsnet HD, Sportsnet East, Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet Pacific, Sportsnet West, Super Liga Soccer (Portuguese), Telelatino, The Score, The Sports Network, The Sports Network (HDTV), and TV5. Most can be had in the specialty sports theme packs, which start as low as $5 per month.
