Live Soccer Streaming and P2P Quick Start Guide

This guide is a second part of our P2P themed resources, and follows the Live Soccer Streaming and P2P Resources article. If you are new to P2P and eager to watch soccer online, this second part is written just for you. After getting familiar with the technology and installing some software, you will be able to view almost all football matches being streamed online today.

Getting started in 3 easy steps

  1. Install P2P Software

  2. In order to access P2P Live Soccer / Live Football matches; you'll need to have one of various P2P Software Programs available. Note that most P2P Players are only available on Windows platform. If you have a Mac, you will have to install Windows emulator. Live streams are available on various networks, such as PPstream, TVAnts, Sopcast, PPMate, TVU, and others. In addition to the P2P applications, in some matches we will include live links to windows media player or real player streams. These do not require P2P players, just make sure you have Real Player or Windows Media Player installed. For best results, install the latest version of the p2p software (use the official download page instead of torretns or other sources) and try to allot maximum available bandwidth while watching the stream.

  3. Get a link for specific channel or stream

  4. If a soccer match is available via live stream, we will show that link on our schedules page. In many cases, the links to the P2P streams will be available only on the day of the match. The best thing to do is to check out our schedules before the match starts. The information we publish is publicly available, but may change at any moment. You may need to try several links for particular match. There is no guarantee that streams will be 100% available and functional, you will simply have to try various streams you find a quality feed.

To get the link of a stream, visit our schedules and look for a "P2P" link listed in channels column of a live soccer match. If a match is shown under P2P channel, click on the match link to see it's details. This page will list all TV channels, as well as all available P2P links we found for that match. To access a particular stream, simply click on the live stream link of your choice. Make sure to have the P2P Player installed before you click on the live stream, otherwise your browser will not know how to address that particular P2P protocol.

  5. Connect to the stream

  6. Once you attempt to connect to that channel, you'll need to wait while the channel’s live stream buffers. This will continue until the stream is of good enough quality for it to play in the player. This experience may be sometimes frustrating, but patience is a virtue here. Depending on the network you are accessing, it might take some time until enough users have connected to that stream to avail enough bandwidth so that the stream can play with reasonable quality. Once you connect to a good stream, you should be able to view it in full screen mode. Stream qualities vary from channel to channel and from computer to computer. In most cases you can expect to watch the match with few or no interruptions. However, in case the stream gets interrupted or lost, try reconnecting to that channel / stream or try alternate stream.

Recording and other functionality

Some players offer you the ability to record the stream so you may later publish it on your blog, youtube, daily motion, or you just keep it on your computer for later viewing. Other players offer the ability for you to do your own broadcasting. As you become familiar with each P2P application, you will soon discover new features for customizing and improving your viewing experience. Note that many P2P players are developed for the Asian market and may not have a very user-friendly help menu. We'll try to provide you with tips on how to best maximize the functions of each player.
