Aussie women light up the NWSL

Five Australian goalscorers headlined the action in the National Women's Soccer League's final round. Sam Kerr led a fightback for Sky Blue FC, scoring as the team recovered from a 0-2 deficit to the Boston Breakers to win 4-3. With the goal, Kerr overtook Kim Little's NWSL season goal-scoring record and now holds the feat alone with a total of 17 goals from 21appearances. Hayley Raso continued her strong season for the Portland Thorns, netting in the west coast side's 3-1 win against Chicago Red Stars after capitalising on an appalling goalkeeper error. Teammate Ashleigh Sykes followed that up with fine technique to add another goal for the Portland Thorns. Alanna Kennedy was the hero for the Orlando Pride, scoring the winner in injury time from a free-kick to ensure her side finished the season in third. Larissa Crummer capped off a superb matchday for the Australians in the NWSL by scoring a classy lob to help the Seattle Reign to a 3-2 win over Kansas City.
