The Portuguese ace's transfer to Juventus was not met with joy by some of La Vecchia Signora's opponents.

It happened when Cristiano Ronaldo joined Real Madrid, it also took place when Pep Guardiola took over as Bayern's boss, and it has happened again as CR7 has confirmed his move to Juventus: there will always be a player or team that will try to get inside their heads and let them know they won't have an easy time making an impact in the leagues they are arriving into.

Such is Lorenzo Insigne's case, which has been adamant about Napoli's intentions to spoil Cristiano Ronaldo's party at Serie A. According to the Italian footballer, the Portuguese ace will not have an easy time in the Italian top flight, and he also included a slight dig at the five-time Ballon D'Or winner and to the former league where he played.

"CR7? Welcome to him, but I'm curious to see how he will adapt to our league. Here, he won't be able to win games by himself. Italian defenders are very strong, even if he proved against Juventus that he's a phenomenon. Let's see how he performs in a longer tournament," Insigne stated.

The player also recalled that the Portuguese striker wasn't able to score against the Partenopei side a couple of years ago in their UEFA Champions League meeting.

"In the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 two years ago, he didn't score against us. We hope to repeat that," Insigne added.

Insigne also shared his views on which player should be considered as the best of this generation.

"Personally, I prefer Messi for what he represents for football, but the talent of the Portuguese is not in question. Winning five Ballon D'Or titles has to mean something," Insigne added.

The Italian footballer admitted that even after Maurizio Sarri's departure from the team, Napoli must still be considered as the main contender to strip Juventus from their seven-year streak winning the Serie A title.

"Are we still Juve's main challengers? Yes, because as the president said, Ancelotti is our best signing. Don't forget that this is a very strong group that has already done great things," Insigne concluded.
