Seems that not everyone in France is satisfied by Les Bleus' win in the FIFA World Cup, as numerous voices have come out and asked Didier Deschamps to reconsider his tactics or even bid farewell to the team.
One of those voices is none other than Hatem Ben Arfa's, one of Deschamps' outcasts from the team and one of his harshest critics. In a column published by France football, PSG's footballer blasted Deschamps' tactics, and asked him to step down as Les Bleus' boss in favor of a more compelling style of football.
"It would be dangerous to hide behind that second star to turn Les Bleus' football into a world reference. The team's style and identity is ultra poor and ugly," Ben Arfa wrote.
Ben Arfa hasn't played a single match for PSG since April 5, 2017.
"French players became speculative, they bet it all on their opponents' mistakes. Those tactics may be effective, but they are not spectacular. Such strategy may not be as effective in the upcoming Euro qualifiers, because other teams might have learned that lesson and cause our national team to fall in that trap," he added.
Ben Arfa urged Deschamps to step down as boss, so that his successor can take full advantage of those skills shown by players such as Mbappé, Griezmann and Fekir.
"Not taking advantage of their talent is a huge waste. Some members of the team that I've talked to would be open to a change of tactics, and having someone else calling the shots would free the talents of such players, creating an identity of attacking football for France. That way, we would enjoy watching them play and not only the results they have produced, as it happens now," Ben Arfa concludes.
The French footballer has been sidelined for over a year by PSG, and the team's hierarchy has been adamant about their desire to have the troublemaking footballer leave the club as soon as possible.
