Lars Richt, director of Sweden's National Teams, revealed that Ibrahimovic's decision to retire from the team hasn't changed.

The controversy surrounding Zlatan Ibrahimovic's possible comeback to the Swedish National Team has come to an abrupt end, as a top-ranking officer for the Blagult ruled out any chance of having the tall striker playing in Russia.

Lars Richt, director of Sweden's National Teams, revealed a conversation he had with Zlatan earlier this week, where the LA Galaxy ace stated that he hasn't changed his mind about re-joining the yellow and blue side.

"I called Zlatan on Tuesday, he told me that his idea about retiring from the National Team hasn't changed. His 'no' still stands," Richt stated.

Earlier this week, Sweden's coach Janne Andersson had revealed that he wasn't considering to call Zlatan up to play in Russia, since the player originally decided to retire. Andersson even stated that he would be open to have the player around, but he needed to call him and make himself available to play for the Blagult.

The 36-year-old has repeatedly stated that a World Cup wouldn't be the same without him...we'll have to wait for the summer to find out if he was right.
