Besiktas’ Domagoj Vida got an early shower after being sent off in the first 16 minutes of the UCL knockout game at the Allianz Arena.

The Croatian international chased down a fleeting Robert Lewandowski but ended up catching the Polish striker’s legs from behind a few meters from the Besiktas’ 18-yard-box. As he was the last man, the referee in charge of the game, Ovidiu Hategan, did not hesitate to punish the offense with a straight red card. Watch the incident below:

Bayern Munich took advantage of the handicapped visiting side with two minutes left to play in the first half. Thomas Muller opened the scoring for the hosts following a David Alaba assist. The Bayern bench was, however, left pondering as star midfielder James Rodriguez couldn't recover from being hit in the head with a ball. He was replaced by Arjen Robben before the teams went on recess.
