Peru, who beat New Zealand in the playoffs, was the last team to qualify for Russia, completing the 32-side roster.

All the 32 teams participating in the 2018 World Cup have been decided. The qualifying round is over, including the playoffs, meaning all that is left is the group stage draw.

There will be some surprise absentees – Italy, Netherlands, Wales, Chile, USA, and Ivory Coast all failed to qualify – while the likes of Iceland and Peru surprised many to book a ticket.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2018 World Cup group stage draw.

When and where will the draw be held?

The draw is scheduled for Friday, December 1. The venue will be the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia. Fans in the USA can tune in at 7:00PT/10:00 ET on FOX Soccer Match Pass, FOX Sports GO, fuboTV, Fox Sports 1 USA to watch it live.

Who has qualified?

Peru was the latest nation to win a spot in the 2018 World Cup after beating New Zealand in the playoffs. This means there will be five CONMEBOL teams and none representing OFC.

UEFA: Russia, France, Portugal, Germany, Serbia, Poland, England, Spain, Belgium, Iceland, Switzerland, Croatia, Sweden, and Denmark

CONMEBOL: Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, and Peru.

CONCACAF: Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama

AFC: Iran, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Australia

CAF: Nigeria, Egypt, Senegal, Morocco, and Tunisia

Explaining how the draw works

The 32 teams will be split into four pots, based on their rankings. Russia, being the hosts, goes straight into pot 1 alongside the seven top-ranked teams. The next best eight go to pot 2, and so on for the remaining two pots.

Russia will automatically be placed in Group A. Each group will have one team from each pot chosen by the luck of the draw.

What are the pots?

Who are the favorites?

Defending champion Germany is a safe bet, alongside Brazil who is back to their best. France and Belgium, with their amazing squads, could go far.

Argentina has talented players to push for the title. Unfortunately, Sampaoli must solve a number of issues – mainly in defense and their dependence on Messi – before they can be taken seriously.
