Germany are the new leaders of the FIFA Women's World Rankings, dethroning USA from the top.

The USWNT has lost their position at the top of the FIFA Women's World Rankings in the latest results released by the world football governing body. Germany are there reigning top-spot holders, while the USA, despite having the likes of Carli Lloyd and Alex Morgan to their side, sit second.

The rankings are based on the results of a series of friendly matches and invitational competitions that have been played over the past three months. The USWNT's fall has all fingers pointing at their recent poor performance at the SheBelieves Cup when they finished at the bottom of the tournament after two defeats. They now have 2105 points, their lowest since the inception of the ranking system.

Meanwhile, SheBelieves Cup champions France follow closely at the third spot with just 36 points behind Germany. Spain, on the other hand, are 13th, the highest they have ever been since the inception of this ranking system. The Spaniards won the Algarve Cup.
