Liverpool’s new signing Raul Meireles has received praises from his Portugal boss Carlos Queiroz. The former FC Porto play maker, who was targeted by Manchester United before joining English Premier League rivals Liverpool, is meant to fill the void created by the departure of Javier Mascherano to Barcelona.

According to English magazine Sunday Mirror, the 27-year-old who has a few more years left on his FC Porto contract could join the Mancunian outfit if the Red Devils provide a high amount of money. Reports state that £15m will be enough for an agreement to be reached between the two clubs.
Over the past couple of season, Raul Meireles faced English sides against which FC Porto succumbed in the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
