Portugal edged past Bosnia-Herzegovina two years ago when both teams met in a two-legged playoff tie for the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals. Which side will claim victory this time around?

The battle will start on Friday at the Stadion Bilino Polje in Zenica. Kickoff time for this encounter is at 2:00pm EST, 7:00pm GMT and 8:00pm local time.
Paulo Bento will be hoping to have his players fully focused come Saturday following Bosingwa’s recent statements. Responding to Bento’s choice of excluding him from Portugal’s man-squad for the playoffs, the Chelsea defender announced his decision to pause his international career.
Bosingwa’s public feud with Portugal’s manager is coming at an inappropriate time according to FA president Gilberto Madail who stated that the player “could have made such comments on Wednesday [November 16, after Portugal's matches].”
Old Trafford will host the eagerly anticipated clash between Manchester United and Manchester City. We look at some of the top quotes ahead of the big kick-off.
Much has been said in the build up to this derby but talks have been rather respectful and we probably cannot talk about mind games. The confidence factor, however, is at a high level within both squads.
1) Nani sounding totally ready
“Every time we play a big game like this, we have a lot of motivation and the preparation is always different for derby games. All the players want to play in these games, especially me,” Nani told The Sun.
“My confidence for these games is high and I feel comfortable in this sort of games. I like the pressure these games bring and every year the games against City seem to get more important.”
Portugal and Denmark go head to head in the final Euro 2012 Group H qualification match tomorrow to decide who will top the group and qualify automatically for the tournament next summer.

It’s all set up for a tense night in Copenhagen. After both nations began the campaign with some disappointing results, Portugal go into the match on the back of five straight wins in the section, while Denmark have an almost as impressive record of four victories and one draw in their last five Group H games.
Other significant statistics show that Portugal have the most productive attack in group, scoring 20 times, while the Danes have the meanest defence, conceding just five goals in seven games.
By coincidence, the two countries were also fierce rivals in World Cup 2010 qualification, with Denmark getting the better of Portugal on that occasion, winning in Lisbon and drawing at home to finish top of the section and force the Selecção to qualify via the playoffs.
Portugal took another step towards Euro 2012 with an entertaining victory against Iceland in a goalfest at the Estadio do Dragao, Porto

Paulo Bento became the first manager in the history of the Selecção to win his first five competitive matches after a 5-3 victory over Iceland kept Portugal top of Group H.
The hosts looked to be cruising as two Nani goals and a Hélder Postiga strike put Portugal 3-0 up at half time, much to the delight of a good crowd enjoying themselves in Porto.
However, Iceland caused Portugal's defence problems all night, and got their rewards. Jonasson's two goals by midway through the second half raised the spectre of Portugal's chaotic 4-4 home draw against Cyprus earlier in the campaign.
Portugal have been tipped to rock robbery victims Luxembourg in Wednesday night’s friendly as Bento’s men prepare for upcoming Euro 2012 qualifying matches.

Group H leaders Portugal are in a good position ahead of September’s qualifier against Cyrus whereas Luxembourg are virtually out of Poland-Ukraine. All the same, the small football nation are happy to play for pride and keep learning as they slowly develop.
However, it is going to be even more difficult for Luxembourg to pull out any sort of upset against Portugal come Wednesday, following the robbery attack they reportedly suffered in Almancil.
The Luxembourgian staff and squad were victims of the crime which had them lose cell phones, cash and laptops. Ahead of the Portugal vs Luxembourg friendly, coach Luc Holtz was quoted as saying by reporters in a worried mood:

Nani was left out from Manchester United’s first XI against Barcelona at Wembley, but his performance against the Catalans last weekend has proven that the winger deserves more playing time.

Competition has become tougher for Nani now following Ashley Young’s arrival from Aston Villa. But after insisting a few weeks ago that Young was very much welcomed at Old Trafford, the Portuguese winger is not set to change his opinion. He told the press on Monday:
“I will try [to win a regular starting XI spot]. I want to do much better than last season. Competition is good, it inspires you.
“If you have competition, you will train harder and push yourself in every game. I can get better. That is what I am trying to do.
At this point in time, Nani believes he can only welcome the signing of Ashley Young at Manchester United...

Sir Alex Ferguson fulfilled his wish of signing Ashley Young from Aston Villa this month and most Manchester United fans—if not all—think that the Red Devils were spot on to make this move. However, Nani’s place in the starting XI is also now in doubt.
Pundits have been looking at how best Ferguson might use both players—Nani and Ashley Young, whereas speculations in the media suggest that the Portuguese international could be on his way out of Old Trafford as Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan are reportedly interested anyway.
Which player is more comparable to Messi's ability to create chances? Will it be Nani or Valencia?
The best there is in the world. Indeed he is. Lionel Messi is certainly a gem of his kind. The Argentinean has been in marvelous form of late and will definitely be the focus of tonight's Champions League final clash between Manchester United and Barcelona.
It's pretty easy to say that Lionel Messi has already engraved himself among the pantheon of greats in football's history and like all other legends, Messi is an individual that excites fans and causes mayhem in opposition defences to such an extent that most clubs collectively try to neutralize the threat posed by him.
Back in 2009, it was all about the Messi vs Ronaldo battle which the Barca talisman imminently won. This time around, the match will be a whole new dimension from their last meeting with the Red Devils performing well collectively as a team.
So the stage is set for Manchester United to affront Barcelona at Wembley on Saturday night and Barca admirer Nani wants the Red Devils to steal the show.

Bookies have tipped Lionel Messi to get bigger than any other player during the game as the Catalans are expected by many to carry the day. However, Nani is planning to prove those people wrong. He told The Sun:
“When I’m at home and I’m watching TV, I think about Barcelona's players in a totally different way than if I am playing against them.
“At home, I appreciate the way they play. Lionel Messi is the best player in the world. I like to see him play and see the things that he does. He inspires other players to do different things as well.

They might have been outclassed two years ago in Rome, but Nani believes that Man United will use that disappointment to bounce back against Barca at Wembley.

28th of May will be the date where Manchester United get a clear shot of revenge at Barcelona for what they caused at Rome in 2009. Pep Guardiola's men were the more spectacular team on that day as Barcelona beat United 2-0 to lift the Champions League trophy.
Two years on, things have certainly evolved to a standard as far as Manchester United are concerned. They have lost key players but the strength within the team and the bond among the players has emerged to a whole new level. And for that reason only, Nani believes that whatever heartbreak they suffered in 2009 will now be their prime motivator ahead of the clash at Wembley,
The Barcelona vs Manchester United match in the 2011 Champions League final is nearing, and Live Soccer TV brings you 10 interesting statistical facts.

1) Both FC Barcelona and Manchester United have won 3 UEFA Champions League titles in football history. The winner at the Wembley Stadium on May 28 will therefore surpass the runner-up in the rankings of the contest’s top winners since its start.
2) The old Wembley Stadium, which hosted 5 European finals, was the arena in which Pep Guardiola lifted the European Cup, 19 years ago. The current Barca coach—then a player—was in the Catalan side that defeated Sampdoria 1-0...

Nani has boldly stated that Chelsea will be worried about their match against United tomorrow and insisted that Old Trafford would be an advantage for them.

Manchester United host Chelsea this Sunday in a potential title-deciding match at Old Trafford. Manchester United, whom at one point had an 18 points lead over the Blues, suffered a defeat against Arsenal to allow Chelsea to climb their way back into contention for the league title battle.
Nevertheless, Manchester United winger Nani is apparently very confident ahead of this Sunday's match after he claimed that the Devils definitely have a psychological advantage over their revived-rivals.
"It will be very difficult. But we are at home and we have had good experiences against them.

Manchester United defeated Chelsea back to back in Europe last month and they are hoping to build on that ahead of Sunday’s big game in the English Premier League—Manchester United vs Chelsea.

The Red Devils have lost all their games against the rest of the Big Four in the English Premier League in 2011. On March 1, they were beaten 2-1 by Sunday’s opponents Chelsea. This defeat followed with a terrible 3-1 defeat at Anfield.
Lately, Manchester United also lost 3 precious points away to Arsenal. Subsequently, they are yet to secure the English Premier League title and this weekend’s Manchester United vs Chelsea match has pretty much transformed into THE decider.
But the Red Devils will be hoping to repeat the results they had against Chelsea in Europe a few weeks ago. To clinch their first victory against a Big Four in the year 2011, play maker Nani believes that confidence will be key to succeeding.
As we prepare for a blockbuster clash between Chelsea and Manchester United at the Bridge, Live Soccer TV previews the five players who could make a difference for the Red Devils.

Manchester United head into this fixture with a totally different motive than what Chelsea occupy. For United, it's a chance to prove their credentials all over again after being dumped out of the competition at this exact stage last season.
The departure of Ronaldo prompted many changes of perceptions on United with a majority of them being negatives one. People believed that the Red Devils will never be the same without their Silky Portuguese star. People believed that things will not be easy for Sir Alex after refusing to bring in any big name signing.
Therefore, this match provides them with the chance to prove to millions of people outside there. To prove that Manchester United are still a force to be reckoned- no matter domestically or even in the European stage. Nonetheless, Live Soccer TV analyses five players who could make a difference for the Red Devils.
A low-key friendly ended in a 1-1 draw between Portugal and Chile at the Estadio Magalhaes Pessoa, in Leiria last night.

A low-key friendly ended in a 1-1 draw between Portugal and Chile at the Estadio Magalhaes Pessoa, in Leiria last night.
There was plenty of technical ability on show, especially from Chile’s Alexis Sanchez, who showed exactly why he has some of the world’s biggest clubs chasing him, and Manchester United winger Nani. The two players brought occasional flashes of outstanding skill to an otherwise lethargic game.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence from Portugal vs Chile hasn’t reduced the expectations and hopes of Portuguese fans ahead of the game. After all, there’s Nani to watch out for!

The 24-year-old winger seems to struggle to acquire a Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo-like status. But how is that being possible considering his enormous amount of skills?
Nani can shoot and score from any distance; he’s fired in numerous dangerous volleys to prove this fact. He’s fast and creative on the ball as well.
Now if some insist that he’s already selfish enough on the pitch, Nani thinks that he in fact has much more individual powers to make explode. At Manchester United this season, he has become the man to watch and to fear ahead of matches. However, Red Devil supporters may still not put him on the same rank as former Manchester United play maker Cristiano Ronaldo.
After affronting Argentina recently, Portugal will have to deal with Argentine blood again as they’ll face Chile – led by the famous Claudio Borghi. How will Bento’s men respond to this threat?
Rule out Cristiano Ronaldo as a possible option to help Portugal gain more momentum through Saturday’s international friendly against Chile; the Portuguese captain is unavailable through injury... again! Now as we turn our attention to Paulo Bento’s available man-squad, it seems evident to single out Nani as the man to watch.
The Manchester United winger has shown a lot of character for the Red Devils this season and he certainly deserves to stand out as one of Portugal’s best players presently. Nani was instrumental against Denmark in a game which marked Bento's first match in charge of the Portuguese national team. The star winger is now poised to influence the new era in which the team has entered since the sacking of the unsuccessful Carlos Queiroz.
Having failed to grab a goal away to Marseille, Manchester United are obliged to win on Tuesday night. Live Soccer TV wonders about the kind of approach that the Reds may use.
What Manchester United’s 0-0 Draw Means
The first thing everyone can understand is that the Red Devils must avoid a score draw if they want to cross the Last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. In such instance, the away goal rule will automatically put Olympique Marseille through to the next stage of the competition.
Evidently, defeat for Manchester United at Old Trafford will create the same result: an European exit for the 2008 UEFA Champions League winners. In conclusion, Manchester United are left with only one option as they aim to reach Wembley; they must beat Olympique Marseille or kick out.
Interestingly, drawing is still an alternative and how so? Since extra-time exists in knock-out stages games, a 0-0 score line within 90 minutes of football may be good enough for the Red Devils to maintain their Champions League aspirations alive.
Confidence looks to be high at Old Trafford after their triumph over Arsenal and Ryan Giggs has delivered a bad news to Didier Deschamps's men: ' We will show our class'

Manchester United only managed a goalless draw against French champion in the first leg which at the State Velodrome- a result that even left Dir Alex Ferguson admitting that it was a dangerous one. Then came the pile of gigantic fixtures that saw United lose two matches in succession against Liverpool and Chelsea.
However, the Devils returned to winning ways against Arsenal last weekend and Ryan Giggs believes that confidence is back a high level around Old Trafford as they prepare to host Marseille tonight.
Manchester United are in a tough condition with back to back defeats and Nani’s injury on their mind. But they need to face Arsenal, Marseille and Chelsea in the next 30 days...

The atmosphere has changed at Manchester United. It just needed two defeats in two crucial games for that to happen. First, Chelsea’s blue sea flooded the Red Devils at the Bridge. Then came Jamie Carragher’s Liverpool who expanded the pool of Manchester United’s miseries in controversial fashion.
Suddenly, the Red Devils are in trouble. The road is not so long now. It will end soon as the end of the season is less than three months away. Mathematically, Manchester United’s back-to-back defeats have lowered – but not cancelled – their chances of clinching the English Premier League title this term. In fact, Arsenal are just behind the Red Devils whereas Chelsea seem to have found the level of confidence needed to mount a miraculous comeback in the title race.
