Internazionale coach Gasperini facing the sack following poor run

Nothing is going right for Internazionale and club president Massimo Moratti is now considering the option of sacking Gian Piero Gasperini.
The coach was tasked to do better than Leonardo with whom Inter won the 2011 Coppa Italia. As of now, however, Gasperini has not shown good signs. Losing 4-3 to Palermo on the first match-day of the Serie A was never a good way to kick-off the domestic campaign.

On Tuesday night, the Nerazzurri suffered a major blow through a heartbreaking 3-1 defeat against Novara. Riccardo Meggiorini’s first half goal put the hosts under pressure to score but when Marco Rigoni found the back of the net through the penalty spot inside the 86th minute, Inter’s chances of winning the match got baffled.

Esteban Cambiasso did put his side back into the game 3 minute later but it was too little, too late. Rigoni completed his brace at the 90th minute as the visitors went home with nothing in the bag.

Internazionale have sacked Rafael Benitez, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian giants are one step away from appointing AC Milan’s former coach, Leonardo.
It is believed that Benitez received his verdict via e-mail through a note from Inter Milan’s lawyer. If the news about the sacking is true, it means that the ex-Valencia and Liverpool would have been in charge of Internazionale for only 6 months following his appointment back in June 2010.

Now Italian media Tuttosport have reported that Massimo Moratti eyes Leonardo as his number one target to replace Rafael Benitez who won the Supercoppa Italiana, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup with the Nerazzurri. According to this source, Internazionale should have Leonardo has their new manager by January.

Internazionale’s FIFA Club World Cup triumph last weekend might have been the club’s last win under the guidance of Coach Rafael Benitez. The Spaniard looks to be on his way out…
In an interview which seemed to reveal the critical condition between the Inter Milan manager and the board, Rafa issued an ultimatum as he declared following his side’s victory over TP Mazembe:

“The club has three possibilities.

“One: to fully support the coach and to buy four or five players to build a stronger. In other words, to have a squad where there’s much competition between the players to be able to keep winning matches and titles.

“Two: to carry on like this without a project, without plans, and to go ahead – from now till May – blaming one person.

Inter Milan Can’t Roo-In Barcelona With Lionel Messi Transfer

This week has been incredible for both Inter Milan and Wayne Rooney’s Man Utd. But Barcelona and Lionel Messi are not ready to dance on the music of shocks, surprises, or U-turns.
Barca’s enviable strength seems to be in a decline: their 1-1 draw away to Rubin Kazan a few weeks ago and their third position in La Liga standings seem to reveal so. Besides the idea that Pep Guardiola’s Catalans are becoming a one-man team around Lionel Messi has started to spread itself among football fans.

Barcelona – who recently grabbed a victory in the Champions League thanks to a Leo brace – will face Real Zaragoza in a vital match on Saturday. Coach Pep Guardiola is not willing to encounter anything less than a victory at La Romareda as Barcelona’s season is yet to be comfortable.
