Spurs’ exclusion from the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League apparently doesn't bother Luka Modric to the extent of wanting to quit for a bigger club.

The Croatian midfielder’s name was constantly mentioned in the headlines, especially last summer, as Chelsea looked favorites to land the player’s signature. All the same, Harry Redknapp won the transfer battle and Modric remained at White Hart Lane.
As the January transfer window is about to open, speculations surrounding the 26-year-old have emerged again. Rumors suggest that Modric might respond to Chelsea’s midfield problems by joining Andre Villas-Boas’ struggling Blues.
The player, however, has been quick to discard them. On Thursday, the English press reported Luka Modric as saying:
After trouncing Turkey 3-0 in Istanbul last Friday, Croatia’s spot in Poland-Ukraine is almost confirmed.

Tonight, Slaven Bilic’s men will welcome Guus Hiddink’s wounded warriors in Croatia. However, Luka Modric is not contemplating complacency. The Tottenham Hotspur talisman is aware of Turkey’s potential to turn the tables around.
According to Modric, the Croatians “have only done half the job”. Indeed, 90 more minutes are left to be played and the attacking midfielder is up for them.
“The most important thing is that we stay focused now. We can't relax, even a little bit. It could be very dangerous,” Modric stated in an interview with UEFA.com.
Luka Modric’s exclusion from tonight’s mouthwatering English Premier League match between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur has been confirmed.

The Croatian star didn’t join Spurs on their trip to Old Trafford. It was first thought that Modric had remained in London through injury. However, ahead of the match on Sunday, Coach Harry Redknapp told reporters in a disappointed mood:
“Someone has turned Luka's head. Luka will not be with us tomorrow. He has a bit of an injury he could have played through but his head's not in the right place at present. We need to get it all sorted out.”
Harry Redknapp wants Luka Modric will extend his contract at White Hart Lane. With Chelsea and Valencia confirming Juan Mata’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, Redknapp is also hoping that Chelsea’s Modric deal will collapse. Reacting to the Mata transfer report, the Tottenham Hotspur boss told Talksport on Sunday:
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has reiterated that Luka Modric will not be allowed to leave White Hart Lane this summer.

Luka Modric has been the subject of intense speculations over the past few days with reports claiming that the Croatian could be tempted for a move to Chelsea this summer. However, Harry Redknapp has consistently denied all this rumors despite apparently having received a 'ridiculous' bid for the midfielder.
Nonetheless, the Daily Mail recently published quotes from Modric himself, which portrayed his intentions of leaving the North London outfit. That piece of news came after Spurs rejected a 22 million bid from Chelsea for the Croatian midfielder and even he offered some clue of his preferred destination.
Chelsea have again attempted to tempt Tottenham Hotspur for their star Luka Modric, while Palermo’s Javier Pastore is also reportedly on the Blues’ radar.

After having an offer turned down, Chelsea owner Abramovich looks set to splash a sum of £22m for the midfielder. The purpose of the Croatian’s landing at the Stamford Bridge is based on the Russian billionaire’s idea to rejuvenate his side and obtain more fuel for the upcoming season’s immense challenges.
Although a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti has yet to be appointed, glimpses of success over the Luka Modric bid could help the Londoners be more stable in their current situation, as they try to correct the mistakes that destroyed most of their plans in the last term. Whilst talks are anticipated to last for a period of time between Chelsea and Spurs, the Stamford Bridge occupants have also picked Palermo’s Javier Pastore as the perfect helper to solve their glitches upfront.
Harry Redknapp is determined to keep hold of his 'priceless' Luka Modric after reports emerged that Man United could be in the line to sign the Croatian.

Harry Redknapp believes that none of Spurs' star players will be sold out this summer, including the 'irreplaceable' Luke Modric. The Croatian playmaker has been linked with a move to Old Trafford as a replacement for Paul Scholes but Redknapp now claims that none of this rumors will have any end products.
"We are not selling Luka Modric, we are not selling Gareth Bale, we are not selling Sandro," Redknapp told Sky Sports News. "We are looking to build a team, not dismantle one and they are players we need to keep and add to if we are to get back in the Champions League again.
The Spurs talisman has been attracting a lot of interest in recent times and the Crotian has further added intensity to the already hot rumors

Luka Modric has been a real revelation in Spurs' midfield this season and while the North London Club have already insisted that the Croatian playmaker is not for sale, Modric himself has admitted that a move away from White Hart Lane is indeed a possible option.
Modric is currently busy preparing with his national side ahead of their Euro 2012 Qualifiers against Georgia but he did admit that he would love to continue playing Champions League football next season.
"Everybody wants to know what will happen with me. I'm trying to stay calm as my national team has a really important match coming.
Luka Modric has been an intense subject of transfer speculation over the last few months but the Croatian seems to have other plans

Luka Modric has effectively ruled out any rumors linking him with an exit from White Hart Lane this summer after there were reported interest from the likes of Manchester United and other big clubs. However, the Croatian did admit that it will be painful to not be able to play in the Champions League next season.
"I think so. You can't predict things in football because anything can happen. But I am enjoying it here. The fans are amazing, the club is amazing. There are Croatians here. I really do enjoy it here. I'm not missing anything. I think this club can achieve a lot of great things.
It’s been 7 months since Wayne Rooney last scored from open play for Manchester United, but ex-pal Cristiano Ronaldo expects him to find back his form soon.

Wayne Rooney’s career at Old Trafford was experiencing a negative twist until he signed a contract extension earlier last week. The Manchester United talisman has been struggling to cope with pressure following his private life scandal, but Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is sure that life for Rooney will be bright again.
“Wayne [Rooney] didn’t start this season very well, but he still a fantastic player. I know that he will soon be back to prove that.
“He has decided to remain with Manchester United and to sign a new contract, and I think we must all respect that. I’m not the one supposed to advise him on that. But, I know that things can change very quickly indeed.”
Tottenham Hotspur will be back to English Premier League business when they face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, August 21. The Londoners just lost 3-2 to Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League during the week.
However, play maker Luka Modric insists that Tottenham Hotspur will not have to take fatigue, following their midweek trip to Switzerland, as an excuse to fail when they affront Stoke City on match-day two of the English Premier League. The 24-year-old Croatian spoke to the Evening Standard as gave his thoughts on Spurs’ agenda and their upcoming match at the Britannia Stadium:
“To go away twice in four days… that’s football. You can’t choose the games or where you play. Some other teams struggle. But, I hope we play well.
