GolTV signs with Kentaro and Torneos y Competencias to offer viewers wide coverage
It was announced on January 17 that GolTV and Kentaro have come to an agreement which will GolTV to broadcast Gillette Brazil World Tour games and top international soccer matches. Commenting on this feat, GolTV COO Rodrigo Lombello explained:“As all eyes turn to Brazil and excitement builds for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, this agreement allows GolTV to showcase premier friendly and qualifier matches, connecting fans and reinforcing that GolTV is the exclusive destination for those who are just as obsessed with soccer as us.”
In addition to the partnership with Kentaro, GolTV has signed an agreement with Torneos y Competencias. Constantino Voulgaris, executive vice president of programming and business development at GolTV, declared the following:
GolTV to broadcast “El Clasico” showdown between La Liga superpowers Real Madrid and Barcelona on December 10
The match will be broadcast from Madrid’s legendary Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, December 10 at 4 p.m. EST with full pre- and post-game coverage from GolTV beginning at 3 p.m. EST. “With millions of soccer fans tuning in, El Clásico is one of the best and longest rivalries in the sport featuring top international soccer superstars,” said Rodrigo Lombello, COO at GolTV. “GolTV will give obsessive soccer fans extensive pre- and post- game coverage with expert commentary and the latest news on each team and its players.”
Additionally, real soccer fans can not only connect with others just like them and chat about El Clásico on GolTV’s official Facebook page, but they can also learn about GolTV’s official “Watch and Win” contest to air during the match, with the grand prize winner receiving a trip for two to either Las Vegas or Miami Beach.

1.) Were you surprised by the outcome of the Clásico? Why or why not?
RH: Given the implications of this first of 4 Clásicos, I wasn’t surprised at the final scoreline. Real Madrid simply had to play a more conservative game than they did in the corresponding fixture where they tried to beat Barca at their own game and failed miserably, while Barca seemed to be playing at a less frenetic place knowing that their league championship quest has the security of an 8 point lead.
A lot of people had predicted a draw or a one goal difference and the game played out that way, a very close, well-contested game with both sides weary of each others strengths and both coaches did a good job nullifying the others potency in front of goal.
