Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar has denied any speculations that his teammates will be eyeing revenge when they take on Netherlands in a friendly match tomorrow.

Brazil will host Netherlands at the Estadio Serra Dourada tomorrow in a match that will mark their first meeting since the Dutch knocked Brazil out of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa last year. However, Julio Cesar, who was part of Brazil's team that suffered in that clash at South Africa last year, has played down speculations of revenge this time around.
Brazil are keen to use this friendly as a strong part of their preparation ahead of the Copa America next month and Cesar was quick to justify that this was far more crucial then just revenge.

Brazil’s national team locks horns with the Netherlands on Saturday in a friendly, but both teams’ line-ups will need to go through revisions, as the two coaches will be forced to make changes.

Brazil manager Mano Menezes was compelled to exclude AC Milan star Alexandre Pato the last time around prior to a friendly against Scotland in March. This time, in a repeat of the 2010 World Cup’s first quarterfinal game, Mano will again have to deal with the injured striker’s absence, and thus rely on Neymar to fulfil his duties upfront against the Netherlands.
Ganso has also been declared unfit for the clash, while Kaka and Ronaldinho—who have not spent so much time in the spotlight lately—have been omitted from the squad. For Holland coach Van Marwijk, the situation is not less complicated, obviously…
A sublime performance by young striker Neymar led Brazil to a 2-0 win over Scotland at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Young Santos striker Neymar showed neat footwork to open the scoring just before half-time, and added a second from the penalty spot after he was brought down by Charlie Adam.
Scotland had an early chance to make an impression when captain Kenny Miller was fouled on the edge of the area by Lucio. Blackpool playmaker Adam stepped up to free kick but fired his effort into the defensive wall.
Brazil settled into the game and began to dominate possession, their first clear cut chance came when an Elano cross was headed over the bar by Ramires.
Elano was beginning to pull the string and he released Jadson with a clever through ball, only for Allan McGregor to save and keep the scores level. Galatasaray midfielder Elano then played over a corner that was headed powerfully off the bar by Leandro Damiao.
Brazil and Scotland will go head to head at the Emirates Stadium in London, England on Sunday.

Brazil will be looking to bounce back from consecutive 1-0 friendly defeats to Argentina and France. Scotland could grab their third straight win after beating the Faroe Islands and Northern Ireland 3-0 in recent outings.
AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato has been ruled out for Brazil due to an ankle injury, while Villarreal striker Nilmar is doubtful with a muscle injury.
Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva should start for Brazil along with Ramires of Chelsea. Young Santos striker Meymar looks set to lead the attacking line for ‘A Seleção.’
Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is out injured for Scotland, while Steven Naismith will miss the game due to illness.
Brazil midfielder Lucas Leiva has admitted that he could be forced to cause an upset for his Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish if Brazil beat Scotland this Sunday

Lucas stated that this weekend's match against Scotland is very important for Brazil as they seek to return to winning ways after losing the previous international fixtures against France and Argentina. But Lucas was forced to admit that it could be an upset for Kenny Dalglish, who is a Scot himself.
"It will be a very important game for us,'' said Lucas ahead of Sunday's clash at the Emirates.
"We lost the last games so the pressure is a bit higher. But we have a good team and hopefully we will play a very good match. Hopefully we will play with confidence and I am sure we will have a big opportunity to win and be confident for the rest of the games.''
Scotland vs Brazil presents a fresh opportunity for Brazil’s next generation of superstars to develop even more. The spotlights will be on Neymar, David Luiz, Ganso, Ramires and Lucas.

Gone are the days where Ronaldinho, Kaka, Robinho and Ronaldo were the driving forces behind Brazil’s machine gun. Ronaldo has retired whereas the international career of Ronaldinho, Kaka and Robinho is mysteriously becoming a story of the past – although these three players are yet to draw a line between their football for Brazil and retirement.
Call-ups have been rare in recent times for the players that used to be regular faces in Brazil’s senior national team. After the country’s unconvincing showing during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the cry for new blood in the Brazilian team grew up louder. The Canarinho feel they can’t waste more time leaning on the big names only, when new talent is being produced in the country every year.
On account of his burning desires to feature in the Scotland vs Brazil friendly, goalkeeper Craig Gordon has declared himself fit to join the Scottish national side for the big match at the Emirates Stadium.

The Sunderland goalie is actually weakened by a disturbing knee injury that requires delicate treatment and a period of rest, but Gordon is confident that getting a feel of his country’s battle against the World Cup quarter-finalists will not damage him any further. Taking into consideration his current poor physical status, there is a great chance that an appearance from the keeper against Brazil will stir up the anger of Sunderland manager Steve Bruce, since the boss is willing to keep his player out of action for the necessary amount of time.
Sunderland are presently in the Premier League table’s ninth position, but given that they could slip down at any moment—jeopardizing the team’s defence is certainly not an option for the coach. Apparently, Gordon has realized how unique his opportunity was to face a world-class team such as the giant South Americans, and he is willing to pursue his dream.
After a humiliating defeat to Arsenal this season at the Emirates Stadium, Blackpool’s Charlie Adam is hoping to get a positive result in the Scotland vs Brazil friendly, on March 27.

An exciting game seven months ago saw Arsenal FC thrash Premier League new comers Blackpool in London, in front of approximately 60,000 watchers. A hat-trick from Theo Walcott, along with useful contributions by Diaby, Arshavin and Chamakh were just what were needed by the Gunners to sink their visitors; but Charlie Adam is looking forward to much better consequences ahead of his next match at the Emirates Stadium for Scotland against Brazil.
“We don’t want that sort of thing happening again,” he was quoted saying by the Telegraph. “We want to go and perform because everybody watches Brazil worldwide.”

The Scotland vs Brazil friendly match is supposed to be one not to forget, but considering the numerous withdrawals that have popped up in both sides, doubts are casted on the game’s thrill.

Rangers’ midfielder Steven Naismith suffered damages on his groin and hamstring after playing in the Co-operative Insurance Cup final. He was then forced to pull out from the Scotland squad ahead of the Brazil friendly, but he was followed by some of his country-mates, who also had to withdraw themselves due to a decline in their physical conditions.
Sunderland’s Phil Bardsley, Manchester United’s Darren Fletcher and Celtic’s Scott Brown are all anticipated to miss the mouth-watering clash, while West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison is still fighting to make a special appearance.
France and Brazil meet at the Stade de France in one of Wednesday’s most intriguing international friendlies.

Both sides are trying to rebuild after disappointing World Cup displays last summer in South Africa. The match pits two managers Laurent Blanc and Mano Menezes who are charged with turning around the fortunes of their national teams.
Les Bleus came back from South Africa in disgrace after a pitifully poor tournament by their high standards also included a player revolt and dispirited performances all around. Blanc’s appointment has signaled a new era for the French team and after some dodgy performances to start Blanc’s tenure, the team have found a groove as of late winning their last four matches, including three Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania, and Luxembourg and most recently a November friendly against England.
Coach Laurent Blanc is hoping his players can play with authority in the France vs Brazil international friendly match, following the huge mess in which they have fallen, lately.

Blanc boldly announced that his side was going to play an attacking game, even though the Brazilians are well-known for their fierceness. He explained to FIFA’s official site:
“The Brazilians like to keep the ball, which is the kind of game that we want to play.
“It will be interesting to see if we can do that and put them under some pressure. It won’t be easy, but the amazing thing about football’s that anything can happen in a one-off match.
“I like my team to have the ball, dictate the game, and score goals. I like to see players pushing forward as a unit. It makes the game more enjoyable to play, and to watch as well, doesn’t it?”
France vs Brazil – this is a friendly match you cannot miss. And at 79, Brazilian legend Mario Zagallo hasn’t lost the passion for this titanic fixture. The ex-Seleçao knows much about this rivalry.

Ahead of the friendly, which is set to take place tonight, Zagallo recalled his memories of France-Brazil meetings. The former Brazil national team assistant coach who worked with Carlos Alberto Parreira was keen to share his opinions with France Football in an exclusive interview.
“The France-Brazil fixture will always remain something huge,” Mario Zagallo declared as he praised the beauty of this particular rivalry in the sport.
“I played against France back in 1958 when I was a footballer. Then in 1998, I met them as the coach of the Seleçao; that’s when they beat us 3-0 [in the World Cup final].
Thiago Motta has been called up by Cesare Prandelli. He’ll take part in one of Wednesday’s top friendly matches: it’s Italy vs Germany – a great fixture for Thiago Motta to make a thrilling debut in the Italy shirt.

The 28-year-old central midfielder doesn’t have much to look back too at the international level. As a Brazilian, Thiago Motta represented Brazil’s U-17 three times back in 1999 before appearing for Brazil only twice. The talented Thiago Motta has now been given the opportunity to play for Italy and this is something he relishes.
“Wearing the Italy jersey gives me a completely different emotion compared to all the rest that I’ve tried in football,” Thiago Motta told the media.
“It will be a great day for me [on Wednesday] and I feel privileged. I was born in Brazil, but I feel Italian. I am happy to be here.”
France’s Florent Malouda has stated that he could end his career in Brazil, since he had strong relations with the country. Malouda faces the Brazilian national team in a friendly on Wednesday.

The Chelsea superstar was born in French Guiana, and has admitted that he was very close to the “country of football”. According to him, it was even his dream to play under the national Brazilian jersey, as a child.
"I feel Brazilian,” he was quoted saying by Le Parisien. "My wife is from Brazil, my children are half Brazilian, and my in-laws are Brazilian.
"And also, Guiana and Brazil are very similar. There’s a mix of cultures in Guiana, with a strong Brazilian community.
"When I was little, I dreamed of playing for (the) Brazil (national team) and for a Brazilian club. Having grown up in Guiana, France was far away, and so I thought I had more chance of success over there!"
AC Milan defender Thiago Silva believes that his team have all the necessary ingredients to keep Inter Milan at bay for the rest of the season.

Inter Milan won a dramatic match against AS Roma which ended 5-3 after AC Milan struggled to a draw against Genoa last Sunday. The victory for Inter pushed them up to within 5 points of league leaders, AC Milan.
Inter’s president Massimo Moratti claimed that his side was 'inspired' after seeing Milan held to a draw by Genoa. However, Silva insists that AC Milan have got nothing to fear against Inter.
"We are not scared of Inter. They are a good team, but we don't fear anyone," Silva told the press as he flew out to Paris for Brazil's friendly against France.
Manchester United defender and French international Patrice Evra has been excluded from the squad of Les Bleus ahead of the France vs Brazil friendly—on Wednesday, February 9.

Evra underwent a 5-match ban following his bad behaviour at the 2010 World Cup, but now that he is eligible to feature in his country’s international matches again, France coach Laurent Blanc has counted him out of his squad for the game against Brazil at the Stade de France. According to Blanc himself, his decision has nothing to do with anything personal.
"It is a sporting choice, and only a sporting choice. There’s a lot of competition for places in that position (in defence).
"Patrice Evra's suspension is over, so he’s available again. It is perhaps the position where we have the most competition, with players who are playing in very, very big clubs."

Reports have recently suggested that AC Milan have struck a deal with Brazillian outfit, Santos for the transfer of star midfielder Ganso

Ganso has been linked with English club Chelsea over the course of the January transfer window, but it seems now that AC Milan have won the race to secure his signature.
According to several sources in Brazil, Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has struck an agreement with Santos to bring Ganso to the San Siro in June. The whole deal is believed to be at about 25 million Euros.
Ganso, who has been compared with Kaka, had reportedly told the media that he was frustrated with life at Santos as he feels that he is undervalued over there. Contract negotiations between Santos and Ganso have also stalled because of this and it is looking increasingly likely that he would be leaving to Europe in the summer.
Former World Player of the Year Ronaldinho has reached an agreement with Italian club AC Milan to terminate his contract and move to Brazil, but the star has yet to decide in which club he will land.

Earlier this week, Ronaldinho seemed to be an inch away from joining Brazilian giants Gremio. The Imortal’s president Paulo Odone made a public statement Wednesday, in which he revealed how close the former Barcelona attacker was from being a member of his club.
"Ronaldinho only needs to complete the part where he rescinds his (AC) Milan contract," he said. "As for the rest, we have agreed on everything with him.
"We have a drafted contract with which we have agreed upon, and the respective lawyers (of both clubs) are currently working on finalizing it. Within the next 24-48 hours, we will have Ronaldinho’s signature, as we are doing everything we can to bring him here.
"I am here in front of the media because I am very optimistic about the negotiation (which is still going on). Ronaldinho wants to return to Brazil and play in the 2014 World Cup; he feels the best chance to do so is to overcome this (transfer) obstacle and join Gremio.
Transfer news about Ronaldinho’s departure from AC Milan just broke out on Thursday afternoon. The Brazilian star is set to go back to his home country during the January transfer window, Milan have confirmed.
Ronaldinho has been having a rather unpleasant time with the Rossoneri since moving from Barcelona where he had set high standards in football. Inevitably, he has transformed into a top transfer news topic as Adriano Galliani and the rest of the Rossoneri’s chiefs have decided to part company with the player.
Following a meeting with Ronaldinho’s agent and brother Roberto de Assis, AC Milan have confirmed that time is up for the midfielder at the San Siro. Sky Sports reported Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliani as saying:
“We mutually agreed that Ronaldinho will leave Milan in January. Now, he had no desire to train because he no longer felt that he was part of a the project [in the club].”
Fluminense finally claimed the title in front of their ecstatic fans with a jittery 1-0 win against relegated Guarani.

Second placed Corinthians went into their game still hoping to clinch the championship but slipped up and only managed a draw against a Goias team that will be spending next season in Serie B. That meant that Cruzeiro’s home win against Palmeiras allowed them to leap-frog Corinthians to snatch the runners-up spot by one point.
Gremio’s emphatic defeat of Botafogo ensured fourth place and automatic entry into the Libertadores Cup. The big game at the bottom was between Vitoria at home to Atletico-GO both sides starting on 41 points. The home side needed to win to avoid the drop but the visitors only needed a draw to stay up by virtue of them having won more games - 11 to 9 - during the season. Atletico-GO went home happy – the score was 0-0.
