Anyone who thought the Rossoneri of Milan were dead  in the league should think again. Led by the heroics of El Shaarawy, Milan are experiencing a revival. They could temporarily jump a couple of ranks from the ninth position to the seventh with victory over eighth-placed Catania. This match will kick off at 14:45 EST on Friday.

There will be only one Serie A match on Saturday with Juventus hosting Torino. The hosts tried everything against the Rossoneri last weekend but lack of luck in front of goal saw them lose 1-0. Juve will be expected to defeat Torino who recorded their seventh draw of the campaign against Fiorentina on November 25.

Roma are making their way into the top five. A 2-0 win over Torino pushed them up to sixth. The Giallorossi are poised to defeat relegation-threatened side Pescara. Roma could finish Matchday 14 in the European zone if Lazio lose at home to Udinese. Internazionale and Napoli will also be involved in difficult encounters as winning the Scudetto is a realistic dream.

The focus is largely on Saturday’s titanic encounter between Milan and Juventus at the San Siro. The Old Lady secured nothing more than a point from last weekend’s draw at home to Lazio. However, they claimed that famous 3-0 victory in midweek over Chelsea which got Roberto Di Matteo sacked as coach. Can Juventus embarrass a twelfth-placed Milan team buoyed by Tuesday’s Last 16 qualification in the Champions League?

Once again, it is back to the same old game of Barcelona looking to open an 11-point gap above Real Madrid and the latter trying to reduce it back to eight points. This weekend, Barca will host Real Zaragoza at the Camp Nou. Meanwhile, Real Madrid will have a tough task against Athletic Bilbao. The latter recorded a hard-fought victory over Sevilla lately. They are determined to go after Los Blancos.

Atletico Madrid successfully bounced back from their surprise loss against Valencia. They will be looking to keep pace with the Blaugrana with victory over Granada on Sunday. The bottom of the Spanish Primera Division table remained unchanged at the end of Matchday 11. Deportivo, Espanyol and Osasuna are all hungry for points but their respective task this weekend seems hard.

It will be followed by Napoli vs Milan. The hosts are among the three teams with the best defence in the league having conceded only nine goals. The Rossoneri, on the other hand, must find ideas to recover from their 3-1 home loss to Fiorentina.

Milan’s city neighbours also lost ground on Matchday 12. According to coach Andrea Stramaccioni, Internazionale “did not deserve to lose against Atalanta” last weekend. Will the Nerazzurri claim victory against Cagliari at the San Siro?

USA will play Russia in one of several top international fixtures on November 14, 2012International friendly matches - Soccer TV listings printable guide

Club football action pauses for some time to give way to some enthralling international friendly action this Wednesday. USA are still in the running to reach the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals. They will be warming up for tougher challenges with a match against Russia. The Russians suffered the surprise of the tournament at Euro 2012. They started off brightly but could not maintain the tempo as Greece knocked them out in the group stage.

This miserable adventure seems to be well buried, though. Now, Russia are in poll position to clinch automatic World Cup qualification in the UEFA zone. USA and Russia will both gain good experience from this fixture, which is set to kick off at 10:00am EST.

Lionel Messi’s Argentina are expected to maul Saudi Arabia while Luis Suarez’s Uruguay will try to get back their winning form against Poland. The Copa America champions moved four places down to the 11th position in the latest FIFA World Ranking.

Real Betis and Granada opened this week’s round of fixtures with a tight game which produced eight yellow cards. The visitors left Andalusia with three points in the bag thanks to a match winner from M. Rico. On Sunday, there will be four games – two of which will feature Espanyol and Malaga at home.

Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid all engaged in European midweek action. They will play on Sunday. Interestingly, these three teams – who occupy the top three places in La Liga table – failed to claim victory in their respective latest match.

In the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona were victims of defeat away to Celtic  while Real Madrid only just escaped agony at home to Borussia Dortmund. In the Europa League on Thursday, Atletico conceded a surprising 2-0 loss in the hands of Academica.

On Matchday 11, Barca will play first. They will be away to Mallorca where Los Blancos last grabbed an emphatic victory. Atletico Madrid will follow with a tough match against Getafe. The last fixture of the day will see Real Madrid attempt to avoid an upset away to Levante.

Whereas the midweek is filled with cup football action in Spain, England and Germany, the league is on in Italy. Last weekend was a happy time for struggling Milan, league leaders Juventus, ambitious Napoli and in-form Internazionale. They all won. The only giants on the side of defeat were Roma. The Nerazzurri, currently in third position, will host Sampdoria. Second-placed Napoli will be looking to hand Atalanta their fifth defeat of the campaign while Juventus will host Bologna with the aim of maintaining the top spot in the table.

The smooth adventure continues for Barcelona who dramatically claimed victory in Europe on Tuesday. The Catalans left it very late against Celtic and are now brimming with confidence ahead of this weekend’s clash away to Rayo Vallecano.

In their last fixture, against Deportivo La Coruna, Barcelona’s defensive weakness was totally exposed but the priceless input of Lionel Messi ensured a 5-4 victory. Tito Vilanova’s men may be much more cautious on Saturday as they possess the opportunity of creating a temporary 11-point gap over La Liga champions Real Madrid.

As for Los Blancos, they could not overcome their German soil curse in midweek. For the 23rd time in 24 matches in Germany, the Spanish giants failed to win. Despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s sublime strike, Real Madrid left Borussia Dortmund with a 2-1 defeat in the bag.

Until the UEFA Champions League campaign resumes in early November, Jose Mourinho will try to get his team focused on the Spanish Primera Division. They will play in Mallorca on Sunday with the aim of clinching their fifth win in nine league games.

Another interesting match on Sunday is Atletico Madrid vs Osasuna. The hosts currently have 22 points like Barcelona whereas Osasuna occupy the very bottom of the table.

Nothing is going right for Milan who have apparently not recovered from the loss of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to PSG in the summer. The Rossoneri keep stumbling to poor results and are 15th in the Serie A. Last weekend, they went down 3-2 in Lazio. In the Champions League on Wednesday, they lost to Malaga. Will they turn things around at home to Genoa this Saturday?

On Sunday, the top of the Italian Serie A table will be in action. League leaders Juventus have a three-point advantage which could increase after their game against Catania. Internazionale are fourth and will want to exercise their dominance on relegation threatened side Bologna.

Meanwhile, second-placed Napoli and third-placed Lazio will be looking to maintain the pressure at the top when they face Chievo and Fiorentina respectively. Fifth-placed Roma will also be engaged in a tough clash against Udinese.
