Crystal Palace, with only pride to play for, will take on a Manchester City side still involved in the title race.

Preview: Can Crystal Palace shock yet another big side and ruin their title chances?

Manchester City’s biggest disadvantage might be the fact that they play after the first two sides meet. If Chelsea loses, City’s impetus to win will decrease slightly. On the other hand, if Chelsea engineer a win, City will be under massive pressure to pull out a result. The club from Manchester has a larger goal difference than Liverpool as well; thus a victory for the London club might tip the title race in their favor. They will be going against a side which beat both Everton and Chelsea this season, a feat that a top side like Arsenal cannot claim.

City’s season has been derailed by some surprising results, such as the 2-2 draw against Sunderland, a game they were a few minutes away from throwing away completely. Samir Nasri’s goal helped them secure a point. Crystal Palace is second in the form table, having incredibly won their past five matches. They beat Chelsea, Cardiff City, Aston Villa, Everton and West Ham respectively to ensure their survival in the English top flight.

Marouane Chamakh is doubtful for this one for the home side. Matija Nastasic and Yaya Toure are sidelined for City. Toure is a very important member of the team and his leadership is sorely missed. Jesus Navas and David Silva are both doubtful for City for this match. City followed up their draw against Sunderland with a win over West Bromwich Albion.

Manchester City’s key to victory against West Brom was of course scoring early goals. They notched two within ten minutes thanks to the Argentines, Pablo Zabaleta and Sergio Aguero. While West Brom replied with one of their own, City had Martin Demichelis to score one more and ensure three points.

The previous meeting between City and Crystal Palace ended 1-0 to City. Any victory, whether it is narrow or not, will suffice for City. Can they beat Crystal Palace?
