Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has come out and expressed his hopes of Real Madrid's ace Cristiano Ronaldo facing his Bavarian side in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. The two heavyweights drew each other in the draw for the last four and the Die Roten CEO wishes all the best players will be available to feature on the pitch.
These comments from the Bundesliga champions' boss comes amidst the shadows that have been cast upon the 2013 Ballon d'Or winner's fitness. The Portuguese star picked up an injury during the Champions League quarter-finals game against Borussia Dortmund, and was firstly initially believed to be out for only a few days, but in return has missed Real Madrid's last four games. This has lead to many speculating that the Los Blancos ace might even miss out on the all-important semi-finals clash against the reigning Champions League holders.
The Bayern CEO said while speaking to TZ: "I always want to ensure that the best players are on the pitch because the semi-finals are a great spectacle shown all over the world."
"The other game [Atletico Madrid-Chelsea] is also good but if Real Madrid play Bayern Munich, then it is the game the whole world will be watching.”
Rummennige apparently wants CR7 to feature against his side
"I always wish for the best players to be on the pitch, but whether Ronaldo will be fit, I cannot say now."
Will Ronaldo be fit in time for the Bayern game?
