Heading into the second leg of Manchester United vs. Bayern Munich, one could not blame Red Devils supporters for feeling quite hopeful.

After all, despite die Roten holding a vital away goal in hand, the match had finished as a 1-1 stalemate and any follower of football knows anything can happen over the course of 90 minutes.

And for a bit, it actually seemed that they just might be able to do the unthinkable--knock reigning Champions League winners out of the competition after going ahead thanks to Patrice Evra's thunderbolt in the second half.

Well, it was not to be as Mario Mandžukić headed home the equalizer shortly after, and as they say, the rest is history as goals from Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben sealed the hosts' ticket into the semi-finals.

However, the British press were somewhat forgiving of David Moyes's men, but note the keyword 'somewhat'...
