Surprises in the teamsheets were expected as the four teams prepared to announce their lineups ahead of their crucial 2013/14 Champions League second league ties and none of the four coaches disappointed – be it through pure unavoidable circumstances or through bold/crafty changes.

Half-fit Cristiano Ronaldo was relegated to the bench with his team almost already through to the semis after securing a 3-0 first leg advantage while Dortmund, in need of real firepower, reintroduced hat-trick-man Robert Lewandowski who had served his Champions League suspension.

Mourinho opted for Old Man Samuel Eto’o who, despite not being fully fit, was easily the Blues most prolific striker ahead of Fernando Torres and Ba. Ibrahimovic-less PSG gave flying winger Lukas Moura a central berth in the hope of confirming their place in the 2013/14 Champions League semis.
