.. in the U.S. Saturday, June 5, at 8:30 a.m., on ESPN2’s live telecast of the U.S. vs. Australia FIFA World Cup preparatory match, live from Roodeport, South Africa. Tyler, ESPN’s lead play-by-play commentator for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, will be joined in the booth by former U.S. Team captain and ESPN soccer analyst John Harkes, with reporter Rob Stone on the sidelines. Tyler and Harkes will call one of the most-anticipated matchups in the round robin phase for South Africa 2010 – U.S. vs. England – Saturday, June 12, live on ABC beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The matchup between the two FIFA World Cup teams will be the U.S. Team’s last friendly match before they face England in Rustenburg, South Africa. The U.S. vs. Australia match will be simulcast on ESPN3.com. It will be the first match on ESPN from the host country leading into South Africa 2010’s opening match Friday, June 11, at 9:30 a.m. on ESPN.
“I Scored a Goal” – ESPN’s 2010 FIFA World Cup Initiative Continues Next Week with Ronaldo and Pele
ESPN’s ambitious 2010 FIFA World Cup project – “I Scored a Goal” – featuring interviews with 32 of the living 34 men who have scored goals in a World Cup title match, continues on ESPN2’s First Take (Weekdays 10 a.m. – 12 noon ET). The weekday series, which debuted Monday, May 3, and continues through Tuesday, June 9, pays tribute to those who have helped determine the outcome of the biggest sporting event in the world and also captures a piece of the World Cup history for fans. On Wednesday, June 9, First Take will feature two vignettes on Pele, focusing each episode to his goals during the title matches of the 1958 and 1970 FIFA World Cups, respectively. Schedule:
