Portuguese football fans and media are outraged, and understandably so, at their coach Paulo Bento who, while dining at an Italian restaurant, scribbled his lineup for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on a napkin and then threw it away in a bin in an act of reckless abandon.

It does not need to be spelt out the kind of implications revealing your country's lineup long before such a big tournament could have, and Bento certainly does not need to be taught the kind of consequences his actions could have on his chances of keeping the job.

As can be expected, the napkin was immediately seized upon by the media and published in high resolution in several newspapers.

If Bento's draftwork is anything to go by, Portugal's top all-time goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo will lineup on the right while Man United outcast Luis Nani will man the left wing spot. Ricardo Quaresma is selected while Bebe misses out.

The tactician is yet to come up with a public explanation for this napkin business but it wouldn't baffle anyone to see him suddenly given the sack.
