A growing section of Manchester United fans were already fed up with their so-called Chosen One and could not wait for him to be sacked but upon seeing the board's reluctance to show him the door, this fan decided to take the matter into his own hands. It took the steward's intervention to save David Moyes from his fierce temper.

After showing the Man United spirit of old against Olympiakos to recover from a 2-0 deficit, Moyes' side were hit for three by City, conceding the fastest goal to ever be scored at Old Trafford after just 43 seconds. The Scot had this steward to thank for the timely intervention that saved him what would certainly have been a powerful blow.

The under-fire manager did not help matters by suggesting that United should strive to reach City's level, considering the fact that the Red Devils had beaten the Blues by 11 points on their way to a 20th league title in 2012/13.

"I think we've played a very good side and it's the sort of standard and level we need to try and aspire to get ourselves to at this moment in time," he told reporters post-match.
