Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid have seen their bid to overturn the red card of their defender Sergio Ramos rejected. The Madrid side were hoping to be able to overturn his one-match ban in order to get him ready for their next match this Wednesday, but have been dismissed by the RFEF (Spanish football federation).

Los Blancos defender Sergio Ramos was shown a straight red in his side’s El Clasico meeting with rivals Barcelona. He was accused by the referee for bringing down Barcelona attacker Neymar in the penalty box and was thus given his marching orders.La Liga, Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid might take their appeal to the RFEF’s Appeals Court or even as far as the Spanish Sport Ministry’s Administrative Court, which could see Ramos’ one-match ban delayed.

However, if unsuccessful, Real Madrid are looking at facing an in-form Sevilla side without their experienced defender.
