Milan's players will find their weekly wages looking smaller next season.

According to Adriano Galliani, the club's failure to secure Champions League football will mean that the vast majority of the players will see their salaries reduced.

"Most of the players signed a contract that is based on 80% fixed salary, 20% variables," the Rossoneri official stated to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"And that [20%] relates to qualification for the Champions League. Not the Europa League."

Now while they obviously will not be struggling to get by, this will not sit too well with some of the team's key players.

A club favourite, but will he stay next season? Kaka will be one of the players to see his wages further reduced

For instance, Kaka had taken a drastic pay cut when arriving from Real Madrid this past summer, but he has been time and time again linked with a move to LA Galaxy--even before he signed with Milan. And despite his love for the club he calls his "home", the 2007 Ballon d'Or winner has struggled to find his footing under former colleague and new manager Clarence Seedorf.

However, it is no secret that he is approaching the tail end of his career, so even the prospect of no CL football next season may not be an issue to force him to depart. Yet, other key players have been linked with moves away from Milan, including Mario Balotelli and even this season's captain, Riccardo Montolivo.

Will the wage slashing create an exodus of key players such as these this summer?
