A heavy defeat against Chelsea at the weekend had Arsenal fans at the boiling point. Returning home against a struggling Swansea side should help the Gunners, but only time will tell. Watch live on NBC Sports Live Extra as Arsenal look to earn three important points.

Preview: Arsenal fans are expecting a very positive performance

Things did not go according to plan in Arsene Wenger’s 1,000th match in charge of Arsenal Football Club. An embarrassing 6-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea was a cause for concern internally, with fans also showing their discontent.

Returning home, the Gunners will get a chance to give their fans a chance to regroup and smile about something, even if just temporarily.

A poor performance all around contributed to yet another heavy defeat against a title contender. 17 goals conceded away from home against Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, from their 34 conceded all season. That is half their goals against in just three matches. What is the reason behind this?

Some will say lack of mental strength, wrong tactics, out classed, or even poor squad selection from the Frenchman. But putting that all aside, the North London side will have to take a step towards setting things straight on Tuesday night, when they welcome a struggling Swansea City to the Emirates.

Having lost four of their last five matches in all competitions, the Swans will be up against an Arsenal side wanting to take out their frustrations on them. But with a lot of pressure on the Gunners to put up a solid performance, the Welsh side could play more comfortably, allowing them frustrate Arsenal and their fans.

Swansea will be trying to earn their first victory since early February, when they defeated Cardiff City 3-0. They will also attempt to hand Arsenal only their second defeat at the Emirates in the Premier League this season.

An opening day defeat against Aston Villa was the only time Arsene Wenger’s side lost at home in the league this season. Since then, they have won 10 and drew three. In the process, they have only conceded seven goals, which is quite impressive.

With two home fixtures in a row, Arsenal has a perfect opportunity to prove to their fans that they are a stronger side than what many critics believe. A victory over Swansea City and Manchester City at the weekend would really lift the players and their fans.

But in their way will be a Swansea side that could really do with a positive result. They are just four points clear of the relegation zone, and with the season coming into the final stretch, every single point is important.
