Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been charged by the FA for “improper conduct” on Wednesday. The Portuguese manager stepped onto the pitch during his side’s 1-0 loss to Aston Villa, and was sent to the stands. The FA took even further measures and the former Real Madrid manager is now facing charges.

This comes just before Chelsea are about to face London side Arsenal in the English Premier League. It is a vital match which could either see Chelsea tighten their grip on the league, if they win, or Arsenal re-enter the title race, if they win.

"Jose Mourinho has been charged by The FA following his side's game against Aston Villa on Saturday 15 March 2014," said the FA in a statement on Wednesday.

"It is alleged the Chelsea manager's behaviour in re-entering the field of play in or around the 90th minute of the fixture and approaching the match referee amounted to improper conduct."#

However, the Portuguese manager will not receive a touchline ban as he has been given until 24 March to respond to the charges.

Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger can go face-to-face on the football pitch once again.
