The Grifone are full of confidence, having watched the Bianconeri being held to a draw in their Europa League clash with Fiorentina earlier this week.

Preview: The Grifone look to cause the Bianconeri problems at their home stadium

Although flying high in Serie A, Juventus's European ambitions hit yet another snag as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina on Thursday evening. With the Scudetto pretty much already wrapped up, they head to Genoa to take on a potentially tricky opponent as the Grifone have lost just one in ten of their home fixtures.

And despite the fact that the Bianconeri hold a 37-point advantage, more than the 35 points Gian Piero Gasperini's men have accumulated this season, the hosts are still hopeful to cause an upset in front of their own fans.

On loan Juventus player Marco Motta was confident when speaking to the press before the upcoming game.

"I know how to stop Juventus", the right-back stated when asked about his feelings on facing off against some of his former teammates.

Motta's colleague and young goalkeeper Mattia Perin was full of praise for "his idol" Gianluigi Buffon, whereas midfielder Andrea Bertolacci expressed his confidence that indeed, his side could pull off what, on paper, at least, seems like a mission impossible of sorts.

"We will be counting on the fans to act like the 12th man," the Rome-born midfielder declared in an interview with Secolo XIX.

"And watching them against Fiorentina [where they drew 1-1], this has given us confidence in being able to stop or beat them."

The hosts will be counting on veteran striker Alberto Gilardino to make an impact, as the 2006 World Cup winner has netted 12 in 26 appearances so far this season and will be certainly keen to add another goal or two against the reigning Serie A champions.

As for Antonio Conte's men, the coach will be without the services of Claudio Marchisio, who suffered an injury against Fiorentina, with Carlos Tevez also being rested ahead of the return clash with Fiorentina later this week. However, midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo returns from his one-match ban and will be certain to feature in his usual position.

Given the depth of the Bianconeri's squad, Conte should have no difficulty in picking two attackers to lead the line, with most likely Fernando Llorente being paired off with new signing Pablo Osvaldo in the absence of El Apache.

With Juventus having one hand firmly on the Scudetto, it will be interesting to see if they give this match their all, or if they will be conserving their resources against the more important game with the Viola looming on the horizon. This can certainly be to Genoa's advantage, but then again, fans have seen the Bianconeri seemingly start off a bit sluggish only to kick into another gear and put the game beyond doubt in the blink of an eye.

Certainly, that's something that 11th placed Genoa will have in mind as they take on runaway leaders Juventus later today.
