The Bianconeri will be keen to exact revenge on the side that handed them their sole loss in league play so far this season.

Preview: Bianconeri keen to wrap up Scudetto race against a potentially tricky opponent

Juventus and Fiorentina have a long and contentious history dating back to the 1981-1982 season when the Viola saw a second half goal discounted against Cagliari, forcing them to have to settle for a 0-0 stalemate. Meanwhile, the Bianconeri went on to win their clash with Catanzaro thanks to Liam Brady's second half penalty and their 20th league title as a result.

Anyway, history lesson aside, the last time these two sides met was certainly a day that Fiorentina's tifosi will remember for a long time. Not only was it the first defeat Juventus had suffered all season but also it was the first time that La Vecchia Signoria had conceded four goals in one match under Antonio Conte's reign.

Even more impressive was the fact that the Turin giants looked like they had locked up the game after going 2-0 up in the first half thanks to goals from Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba.

That is, until Giuseppe Rossi fired in a 14-minute hat-trick and gave his side their first ever victory in 15 years. Unfortunately for the visitors, their hero on the afternoon will miss out this match due to a knee injury sustained against Livorno back in January.

For coach Vincenzo Montella, this something that will be of much concern given the fact that the Bianconeri's two newest marksmen, Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente have really found their footing in Serie A and have been firing on all cylinders as of late.

However, the Viola have welcomed former Bayern Munich hitman Mario Gomez back from his own long-term injury layoff and will hope he finds his footing soon as they have struggled with an inconsistent run of form as of late, with just one win in their last six games.

As for the hosts, they will have a luxury of options, with Arturo Vidal coming back from suspension. Certainly they will not be pleased to have Andrea Pirlo miss out, but as has been done on previous occasions, Claudio Marchisio may be utilized by Conte to fill in for the midfield maestro.

Not surprisingly, the match reportedly sold out earlier this week as for calcio fans it's certainly one of the bigger games of the season. Will Fiorentina be able to pull off another upset? Or will Juventus exact revenge and continue to cruise on to their third consecutive Scudetto?
