Jose Mourinho's striker woes appear to be drawing to a close as his club have almost sealed a sensational deal that will bring the much-feared Atletico Madrid hitman Diego Costa to the Bridge in exchange for young net-minder Thibaut Courtois.

As reported by The Sun, the Belgian shot stopper is deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea, with Blues #1 Petr Cech showing little signs of dropping his form and former Fulham man Mark Schwarzer an apt stand-in for the Czech national.

Mourinho's side are more in need of a striker, with their hat-trick hero vs Manchester United Samuel Eto'o set for a summer return to Real Mallorca and both of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba not yet displaying the consistency needed from them.
According to yet another British daily, The Gurdian, Chelsea will receive £8M along with Costa for Courtois, for whom Los Rojiblancos boss Diego Simeone has declared that his club would 'pay any price'.
