Roma vs Juventus - January 21, 2014Preview: A mouthwatering match, worthy of a final

When you think of AS Roma taking on Juventus in the Coppa Italia, you would more than likely think it was a final. But unfortunately, one of these two sides will go out of the competition on Tuesday night at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Rudi Garcia's side got through to the quaterfinals after they defeated Sampdoria just a week ago. An early goal from Torosidis was enough to see Roma through to the next round, where they will face a Juventus side that handed them their only defeat in Serie A this season.

Juventus had an easier path into the next round, as they brushed aside Avelino in the Round of 16. Three first half goals from Giovinco, Caceres and Quagliarella were enough to see off the the Serie B outfit.

Both sides come into Tuesday's match in good form in all competitions.

With just one loss in their last 10 matches, Roma will be feeling good about themselves. Their only defeat came at the hands of Juventus, in a 3-0 drubbing. That was their only defeat in the domestic campaign, but since then, they have bounced back well.

They have put together three consecutive victories, two in Serie A and one in the Coppa Italia. With eight goals scored and zero conceded in those three fixtures, the hosts should be ready to go on Tuesday.

The visitors will not be short on confidence themselves, as they too only have one defeat in their last 10 across all competitions. A match in Turkey against Galatasaray ended in a 1-0 upset, which eventually eliminated Antonio Conte's side from the competition.

But since that defeat, Juve never looked back. Six straight defeats have them on the road to yet another Seria A title.

During their current run, they have three cleansheets and have scored 22 goals, while only conceding four.

Tuesday's match will be a very interesting one, with Roma looking to avenge their heavy defeat earlier in the month.

The last time these two sides met in this competition was almost exactly two years ago, and Juve came out on top 3-0. But from their four previous meetings in the Coppa Italia, the home side has only won once.
