The 2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony is well and truly over but football forums continue to buzz with hot discussions linked to Cristiano Ronaldo's triumph, Franck Ribery's disappointment and Lionel Messi's mission to reclaim the title he lost on January 13, 2014.

With the Ballon d'Or, it is as if footballers - other than the ones nominated - are not worth much. At Chelsea, there is one man making the difference of late. He goes by the name of Eden Hazard. His team mates know just how influential he is on the pitch and in the dressing room. The Chelsea man has netted 11 goals in 28 appearances for the Blues this season. However, he did not make the 2013 FIFPro World XI team.

No wonder his club team mates presented him with an award of their own. Hazard named it, the "Ballon Wood". Well, it doesn't matter what it is made of, right? The good intentions of his Chelsea pals are worth as much as gold!
