Barcelona lead the league on goal difference, but a meeting at the Vicente Calderon with Atletico could alter the standings. beIN Sport will bring you all the live action of this exciting La Liga fixture.

Preview: Barcelona are current league leaders, but Atletico are out to change that

Real Madrid will be watching this match attentively, as they know any result will favor them. Obviously a draw would probably be the best, but both sides will more than likely go for the full three points.

The Vicente Calderon will get to see Neymar, Messi and Diego Costa on the pitch together. Three magnificent players in their own right, who can alter a game at any given moment. Unfortunately for Messi, his season has been marked by some injuries, but the Argentine returned with two quick goals in Barcelona's last fixture.

Costa comes into Saturday's match with 19 La Liga goals, and he will want to add to his tally. On the other side of the spectrum, you have Neymar, who has only scored six goals in the domestic campaign, but Pedro and Alexis Sanchez have contributed 11 each, to help the Catalans to the top of the table.

Locked at 49 points, the importance of this match is evident. Xavi is looking for his teammates to make this a statement match.

"The game against Atletico is vital for the league," Xavi told the club's official website. "It may not turn out to be definitive, but a win would lay down a marker."

Atletico will want to lay down a marker of their own, as they have been playing some beautiful football, but have been unable to grab the La Liga silverware. Costa knows what his side are up against, but his remains confident.

"We are fighting, and doing things right," he said. "I know it is very difficult, but we will continue doing our thing and going game by game. The team knows it will be a very difficult game, because they are one of the best teams in the world but we know it is our time and we're playing at home."

At home, Atletico has yet to lose any points in the league. With nine victories out of nine, Simeone's squad will be confident with Barcelona coming to town. For the Catalans, they have dropped points twice away from home.

Saturday's match will feature the league's most potent offense in Barcelona, against La Liga's best defense, in Atletico Madrid.
