Fox Soccer 2Go and DirecTV will broadcast this Group G match that Porto needs to win, in order to progress.

Preview: Porto has it all to do if they want to progress, against a very strong Atletico side

It is not often that Porto finds themselves in this type of situation, but on Wednesday night, they will need two positive results.

First, they will need to defeat Atletico Madrid, who has yet to lose in the group stage. With four victories and one draw, the Spanish side find themselves into the next round, having claimed 13 points already. Adding to their outstanding record, Simeone's squad has scored 13 goals, while only conceding three.

So apart from that much needed victory for Porto, they will also need Austria Wien to lend them a helping hand against Zenit St. Petersburg.

The Russian side is one point ahead of the Portuguese Champions. A draw or defeat would be enough for Zenit to finish second in the group, depending on how Porto does in Spain.

Both sides come into this match off a victory, which should give them a boost of confidence.

Porto defeated Braga on Saturday, which was their first victory in the domestic league since October 27th, when they defeated Sporting CP 3-1.

As for Atletico, they have only lost once in La Liga, defeated Sant Andreu in the Copa del Rey, and they are current league leaders with Barcelona, even on 40 points.

Guarding against some complacency must be a concern for Simeone, as his side is already through to the next round, but they will not want to end the group stage on a negative note. Their previous meeting against Porto in Portugal ended with a 1-2 victory, as Godin and Turan scored in the second half.

Knowing that only the three points matter, Paulo Fonseca is up against the ropes heading into this fixture.

His club's inconsistent results have the fans against him and his decisions, but their victory at the weekend will have calmed some of them down. Failing to make it out of the group stage will really frustrate a number of fans, considering the Portuguese giants were expected to make it out of this group.
