Preview: Scudetto chase continues for Rafael Benitez
Napoli are looking at clinching their 11th victory in 12 home games in the Italian Serie A. Records favour the Blues who have won five of their last 6 meetings against the Crusaders.
A massive wall of 15 points separate third-placed Napoli from eleventh-placed Parma. These two teams are having a very different season.
Rafael Benitez will be hoping to correct the mistakes that condemned his men to a cruel 3-0 loss away to Juventus before the international break. With a crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund coming up next Tuesday, Rafa must protect the confidence that his squad has built since the beginning of the season.
During the launch of the Nokia Lumia 520 SSC Napoli, Marek Hamsik echoed Gonzalo Higuain’s call for focus by declaring:
“Saturday we will be playing in the Serie A and we know that we will have to give our maximum. Our league title rivals are strong and we want to remain in contention.”
Walter Gargano will probably not make Parma’s starting XI due to his involvement in Uruguay’s World Cup qualifying playoff match on Wednesday night. The visitors will be careful to not open up too much at the back after taking only four points from a possible 20 in their last Serie A matches.
As for Napoli, they enter this Matchday 13 game with 28 points, seating behind league leaders AS Roma (32) and Juventus (31) but above Inter (25).
