Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to make it four wins out of as many games when they welcome Sheriff Tiraspol on the 7th of November to the White Hart Lane.

Sheriff will play away to Spurs in the UEFA Europa League on November 7, 2013.Preview: Spurs poised to seal qualification with a win over Moldovan champions

The Lilywhites have made a perfect start to their European campaign, having won all of the three matches they have played so far in the Europa League. AVB’s men have been especially threatening at their own home turf where they have lost just two out of their last 22 European games. If they manage to record another victory at the expense of Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday, Spurs will seal qualification to the last 32 of the tournament.

The match on Thursday is Tottenham’s sixth in 18 days and understandably Villas-Boas is likely to shuffle things around ahead of their important match against Newcastle on Sunday. AVB has further reiterated that budding talent part of the Tottenham roster will be given their opportunities to shine at the big stage but only after the team has successfully earned qualification to the next round.

"Would we look to play some of the young players? There is that possibility, yes, and, if we ensure qualification, first place, we will probably do that," the Portuguese coach told reporters.

"I don't want to step too far ahead because we need to push the boys for that deserved start but, as soon as we achieve it, we can look at it as an opportunity to throw them in to a senior game."

The competition’s top scorer Jermain Defoe who has scored four goals in three European games this season, will be vying for a place in the starting eleven after Roberto Soldado failed to make an impression against Everton last time out.

The Spaniard who was signed for a hefty 26 million pounds in the summer has failed to live up to his billing and has struggled to score goals from open play. Of the four goals he has scored in the league, three have come from penalties but club teammate Kyle Walker has insisted that the former Valencia man will soon find his scoring boots.

"It's not probably falling the way he would like. He is scoring from the penalty spot [against Hull]. It's goals but it's probably not what he wants goals to be like but he works hard in training and I feel his performances on the field are going to bring goals,” said Walker.

"In training he is on fire, but it's not falling for him in the games. It will definitely come, though. He's a fantastic player, a Spanish international and the goals will come."

One player who is certain not to feature is Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor who has not played a single competitive game this season and has not been included in the provisional squad for the European outing.

Marquee signing Christian Eriksen whose playing time has been limited to substitute appearances in the league so far is poised to start against the Moldovan side, Nacer Chadli and Etienne Capoue will also be pushing for starting berths.

Sheriff on the other hand are two points behind second placed Anzhi and manager Veaceslav Rusnac will be hoping his side can pull off an upset when they face a very strong Tottenham side. As far as domestic outings are concerned, Sheriff have once again been the best team in the country and their 3-2 win over Rapid Ghidighici on Saturday ensured that the defending champions maintain a seven point lead at the top over arch rivals Tiraspol and second placed Costuleni.

Ismail Isa who scored the winner in the 3-2 win, featured for just seven minutes in the match after being declared an injury doubt prior to the match but the Bulgarian is likely to return to the starting eleven for the clash against Tottenham.
