Third placed Juventus will host Catania in Turin in a Serie A encounter on Wednesday, the 30th of October 2013.

Juve and Catania will lock horns in the Serie A on October 30, 2013Preview: Juve to continue their good form against Catania

The Turin based club is unbeaten against Catania in the last seven fixtures having last lost to the Sicilians back in December 2009. Juventus got the better of their counterparts on both occasions last season winning both the matches with a score line of 1-0.

Antonio Conte’s men have picked themselves up after a disappointing 4-2 defeat at the hands of Fiorentina which saw them concede thrice in five minutes. In their last Serie A outing, the Old Lady scored a comfortable 2-0 victory over Genoa courtesy of first half goals from Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez. Fernando Llorente is gradually starting to become a regular member of Conte’s setup and the Italian manager has lauded his Spanish forward claiming that the former Athletico Bilbao man needed time to adjust to a new environment.

"I wasn’t lying when I said that we needed to be patient and wait for Llorente to return to the player he was before," said the Italian coach.

"Last season was difficult for him as a footballer and professionally because he wasn’t treated well at Athletic Bilbao. He hardly played.

"He also needed time to become familiar with our system and the intensity of our training sessions."

Catania on the other hand are on the verge of entering into the relegation zone, they are on level points with 18th placed Bologna, but have a superior goal difference. Rolando Maran’s men have failed to record a victory in their last three matches and have also not managed a win in their last ten top flight matches.

Scoring goals has also been a problem at the Stadio Angelo Massimino with Catania having scored the lowest number of goals (6) in the league so far. Their last outing against Sassuolo resulted in a bore draw with the match ending 0-0 and the Elephants will surely be in for a hard time when they face the defending champions at their own home on Wednesday.

Juventus on the other hand have a lot of catching up to do being five points behind league leaders Roma. The Bianconeri will be hoping that a victory can allow them to overtake Napoli for the second position in the league table.

Forwards Fabio Quagliarella and Mirko Vucinic will continue to be on the sidelines for the Old Lady whereas defender Stephan Lichtsteiner is also unlikely to make a return.
