The Merseyside Reds and the Magpies will clash on October 19, 2013. Watch the Newcastle United vs Liverpool Premier League lunch time kick-off live.

Liverpool triumphed 6-0 on their last visit to Newcastle United.Preview: Three more points for the visitors at St James’ Park?

Liverpool resume their EPL campaign as joint leaders with Arsenal. Both teams have won five matches, drawn one and lost one. If Brendan Rodgers’ side are behind, it is only because they have scored less goals (11) than the Gunners (14). However, the goal difference (+6) is the same as Liverpool have a better defensive record.

This is mainly thanks to the heroics of Simon Mignolet whose national team, Belgium, has been tipped to dazzle in Brazil. Speaking about the World Cup qualifiers, some of Liverpool’s players enjoyed a great international break – notably Steven Gerrard who scored and inspired England to victory over Poland en route to World Cup qualification.

This Saturday, the focus will be on creating a three-point gap before Arsenal’s home game against Norwich. Their opponents, Newcastle United, have not played a league match at home in October. The last time they did was on Matchday 5; they went down 3-2 against the Tigers of Hull City.

The challenge on Saturday will be tougher with Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge expected to form a great combination, yet again. When the Magpies last hosted Everton’s city rivals, they suffered a 6-0 humiliation. The score line might be more decent this time looking at Newcastle’s recent record which reads the following: two clean sheets and four wins in the past six matches in all competitions.

On Wednesday, Liverpool announced on their official website that away tickets for this fixture have all been sold out. The public can therefore look forward to a great atmosphere to kick-off Matchday 8 of the 2013/14 English Premier League campaign.
