Porto vs Atletico Madrid could turn into one of the best UEFA Champions League matches to take place on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.Preview: Both sides are looking to stay perfect in Group G

Porto will play host to Atlético Madrid on Tuesday, with both sides coming off domestic victories at the weekend. As for their involvement in this season's UEFA Champions League, both sides won their opening match, setting up an entertaining match at the Estádio do Dragão.

For the Portuguese champions, their European campaign started off with a 0-1 victory over Austria Vienna at the Ernst Happen Stadion. Captain Lucho Gonzalez came through with an important strike to give the Dragões the full three points.

On Tuesday, they will be up against a tough opponent, who just defeated Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

With seven victories in as many matches, Los Colchoneros are even on 21 points with Barcelona. As for their Champions League campaign, they also won their first group stage match, which leaves them on a 13 match unbeaten run in all competitions.

But despite his side's current form, Simeone still believes that Porto and Zenit are favorites to make it out of the group.

"In my opinion, Zenit and Porto have more experience in this competition, the players have more appearances in the Champions League, but that doesn't mean that they are better," Simeone told reporters after his club defeated Zenit 3-1.

Wanting to continue their good form against a strong Porto side will not be easy, but it is possible.

The Spanish outfit will travel to Porto with a virtually full squad, although Adrian is likely the only player to miss out on the action due to a knee injury. Diego Costa will be in the squad as he will be returning from suspension.

Paulo Fonseca will also be fortunate to have a full squad at his disposal, with Belgian Steven Defour returning from a knock. Knowing that he is up against a strong Madrid side, Fonseca wants his players to be fully focused.

"We know that we are going up against a very strong team, who is full of confidence due to their current form," Fonseca said in his press conference. "For Porto, that doesn't change anything. We know of the difficulties we are going to run into, but we are delighted to take on a side that is in great form."

The Portuguese manager has been on the end of some discontent from the Porto fans due to some of their lackluster performances, but he does not seem bothered by any of that.

"I do not allow myself to be influenced by what is said or written," he said. "I react in regards to my ideas. I don't allow myself to be influenced by anything other than my style of play."

Tuesday's encounter will likely test Porto's squad in a way that they have yet to be tested in the Portuguese League. Simeone's side has proven that they are strong and talented, but the Portuguese outfit also has their strengths.
