Both AC Milan and Napoli got important victories mid-week, but who will come out on top at the San Siro on Saturday?

Milan vs Napoli on 22 September 2013 is the match of the week in the Italian Serie A this weekend.Preview: AC Milan's list of injuries could play a part in this match

Although battered with injuries, AC Milan managed to come out of their mid-week match against Celtic with the full three points. A goal from Sulley Muntari and an own goal from Celtic's Izaguirre got the Italians off to a positive start, but they will face a tougher test on Sunday against Napoli.

Allegri's side have had to battle for every point due to key absences, and on Sunday they will have to do the same.

With Matias Silvestre, Kaka, Pazzini, Bonera, De Sciglio, El Shaarawy and Montolivo missing, the Rossoneri will have to once again dig deep if they want to knock off the current Serie A leaders. Apart from all the bad news, Allegri will likely welcome back Abate, Niang and Saponara from injury.

The hosts will want to build on their mid-week victory, but they will also be looking to put their 2-2 draw against Torino behind them. Two late goals from Muntari and Mario Balotelli earned Milan a point, but anything less than a solid performance on Sunday could prove to be fatal for the Rossoneri.

Milan defender Kevin Constant believes that although Napoli finds themselves top of the table, the hosts can prove that they are better.

"We are a fantastic team and we face great competition, but we are all ready to play when we are called into question," he told Milan Channel. "Napoli? They started the season well. On Sunday when they come to the San Siro we will try to prove that we are stronger than them."

On paper, this should not even be a close contest due to Milan's injuries, but if football fans have learned anything, current form is not always the only deciding factor.

Napoli will arrive at the San Siro with a new manager, and new style of play, and a perfect domestic record. Nine points in three matches has Rafa's squad off to a great start, and a victory on Sunday would really have their fans believing that they could do better than their second place finish last season.

Without any injury concerns, Benitez will be able to choose from all his options.

New signing Gonzalo Higuain will once again lead the front-line as he has done in all three Serie A matches for the Partenopei, while he has also contributed two goals. His goal against Borussia Dortmund mid-week will have given him some extra confidence, which will be needed to help him guide his side to a fourth victory.

One other player to watch for Napoli will be Marek Hamsik, who has scored four goals in Serie A this season, making him the club's leading scorer, one ahead of new signing Callejón.

The Slovakian international is in his seventh season with Napoli, and he knows very well how much meaning this match has for the club's fans.

A loss for Milan would start to mount pressure on Allegri, who would have four points from a possible 12. Can Rafa Benitez add to the early struggles of the Rossoneri on Sunday?
